Animating the site header  en

I recently changed the colour of the header image on my site at www.soeks.fr. On my screen using Firefox it looks fine but while in my local post office yesterday, I brought up the site using their PC and viewed it with Google Chrome. It seemed much darker so what I would like to do is create a second header image being a lighter different shade of green and set it as a slideshow fading from one to the other in a permanent loop. This should give the effect of a very subtle glowing header.

I'm sure this is possible however, the header has 2 buttons for language selection and a search field. If I do as suggested will I still be able to layer these important objects over the animation and is there a risk of a black outline which always happens when layering objects over video?

Hello Adrian,

The search function will be still visible but the buttons will be behind the slideshow.

You could use the HTML code object over the slideshow where you add custom HTML code to show the images with the link or you don't extend all the animation over the whole header so it won't cover the 2 buttons.

Many thanks!

Hi Claudio,
What if I converted the header to an animated GIF; would that take too long to load or could it be a potential workaround?

Hello Adrian,

If you add a gif file to be used in the template as header background this will be converted to a static file. The only option would be to add a gilf file by using the HTML code function in the header so it won't be merged with the background image.

Many thanks!

Adrian, many moons ago I created http://www.eapsp.org.au (although I no longer maintain it).

I wanted an animated header, so I placed an animated GIF as the header background.  If you look long enough the colurs change a little in and behind the header.

It was done in evo10, I assume this will still work in evo & pro12
