Hi

Whilst uploading my project there are a lot of files that come up with an 'error' under the status column. Once it has finished a dialogue box comes up with 'error uploading files'. Those files are then corrupt when trying to view the site. i have tried numerous times to upload it and each time there is a different number of 'error' files. i have tried unticking both the 'use passive ftp' and 'enable gzip compression' boxes wiht no success.

This has never happened before and i havent changed any other settings only added new nontent.

What can i do to get my site back up and running?

Hello Warren,

Do you by any chance use a webhost who limits the amount of server space or bandwidth available to you?  This can occasionally be a cause of such errors, and if you have suddenly exceeded your 'quota' then this could explain why the error has only just appeared.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thanks for the answer Paul but i just looked into it and I have only used 1% of my server data and the bandwidth is unlimited even so hardly any has been used up.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Warren

When I have had the same error in the past (which has been very rarely) it has always been temporary in nature.  Usually the files which showed error on upload are transferred successfully on the second attempt.

However, as this does not seem to be the case in your own situation then my instinct would be to have a quick word with your webhost and ask them to check their logs for any possible reason.

You could also try deleting ALL WebSite X5 files from the server, then selecting the option in Step 5 to export the entire project to the server, not just those files recently modified.

Thanks again Paul for your info

As I was trying to access my hosting account I was getting page errors from them so I called them and they are apparently having some tech issues so hopefully it will resolve itself eventually. I will let you know tomorrow.

Cheers

Warren
