When I upload the files SFTP it makes a Index.php and I get the 404 error.
I have to rename it to Index.html
So my question is the HTML using html5 as well. Why making the PHP insted of the HTML?
I am uploading the files to a sub folder while under construction and a temp page on the home page.
The site is http://davgeorgia.org/temp

So do I need both PHP and HTML or will the PHP alone sufice?
PS I do have PHP Ver 5.6 enabled on the hosting

Hello Aulton,
Further to what Uilian has rightly advised (in that you should only have one 'index' file on the server), please be aware that WebSite X5 automatically changes the file extension of your project homepage to .php if there are Objects/elements on the page which require PHP to work correctly.
Your webhost should be able to assist you in setting index.php as priority over index.html using the DirectoryIndex feature built-in to Apache: however, this should not be necessary if you delete any redundant index file as per Uilian's suggestion.
Kind regards,
Paul
