Hi

I keep reading about using one H1 header tag on each page and maybe a couple of H2’s in the text of each webpage, how do I setup and identify these header tags within my text.

Peter.

Hello Peter,

Please see the relevant section of the help file (Step 4 Advanced Settings > Statistics, SEO and Code > Basic section > Automatic heading tag management):

Automatic heading tag management: this option defines how H1 and H2 heading tags are to be handled when the website's page code is created. You can choose from:

H1 for page title: if the title,or extended title, that was given to a page when creating the map, has been made visible (see Text Style), this is used for the H1 tag.

H1 for heading and H2 for page title: the H1 tag value is taken from the page title that is followed by the website title, separated by a hyphen (H1 = "Page Title -  Website Title"). The H1 tag is added to the page code and linked to the heading in the template. The page title, or extended title, is also used in the H2 tag.

If the H1 and H2 tags cannot be handled automatically, and if you want to handle subsequent heading tag levels (remember that there are 7 levels, from H1 to H7), you can do it manually. Insert the titles using theText Object or HTML Code Object options.

If you use the Text Object option, you can use the Enable HTML Code command to add the code and include the title in the tags: for example, type <h1>Titolo</h1>.

The same procedure applies if you use the HTML Code Object option: however, in this case you cannot use the text formatting features available in the editor.
