In v12, my home page shows a title of "index.html" in the title bars. All the other pages reflect their correct page name, and I noticed under page properties there is a field at the bottom called "file name" On the home page, the "file name" is "index." Can I change that to the name of my website without any adverse SEO effects?

Hello Charlene,
Yes you can, but if you do so then you will also have to set the DirectoryIndex on your server to fetch the newly renamed page and serve it up as the 'index/homepage' whenever someone visits your domain name:
https://www.a2hosting.com/kb/developer-corner/apache-web-server/default-directory-index-page
http://www.htaccess-guide.com/directoryindex-uses/
This assumes that you are using Linux (Apache) webhosting.
To be honest there is little point in changing a homepage from the default (and traditional) index.html/index.php - from an SEO perspective Google is more interested in the content and description of your page.
Kind regards,
Paul

I don't think I use Liinux webhosting. It is thru GoDaddy, windows based, I think.

i am wrong. It is Go Daddy cPanel, which appears to be Linux.
