Opening website x5 takes for ever to open since the last update . It seems stuck on "updating libraries" typically taking about 10 to 15 minutes to open.

Hello, sorry I have also been slow to respond. I just hate bothering people too much.

The problem still persists. It's beter some days, and worse others.

I have tried it the following ways.

  • After rebooting
  • Reinstalling, and rebooting
  • disabled the internet connection
  • with the internet connected
  • Just basic BC, no external peripherals enabled.
  • Started the program without any others.

It's been usually anything up to 20 minutes, but today it finally loaded after about 2 hours of trying.

I like the program, but would like to find a solution to the loading problem. Other programs seem to load fine.

This is a New PC (about 6 month old thats had nothing but Windows 10 on it)

Windows 10 Home (x64) Version 1703 (build 15063.483)
4.20 gigahertz Intel Core i7-7700K
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME H270-PRO Rev X.0x

Rod, what anti-virus/firewall are you using, and have you tried temporarily disabling of removing it?

Being a newish PC it probably came pre-loaded with AV software, have you perhaps got 2 AV programs running (and probably Microsofts offering from a recent update as well)?

Is this PC in a work environment (corporate network) or home environment?

And how good is your internet - what do you get if you google intermet speed and click the button run speed test?

Thank you for getting back to me. My computer is custom built and is operated at home. Only the software I selected was put on it, so none of the fancy bloatware that tends to be shipped with pre-configured PCs.

  • Only one AV Widows Defender (up to date)
  • The computer is kept up to date (Windows Update)
  • Internet download speed is 25.2 mb/s, upload 4.8 mb/s

Rod, that is very odd. It should fly!!

Just in case there is some conflict somewhere, do you want to try going to control panel, administrative tools, event log and clearing the logs, then run WX5 (hopefully it will be a slow startup) and then check the logs for errors or warnings?

With luck this will indicate a problem which is only bypassed after a timeout of some discription.

The only other "test" that springs to mind is to create a new (temporary) user - make sure it's an administrator and then log out and log in as new user. Install WX5 and see how it goes.

Sorry we all appear to be snatching at straws.

Thanks Rod, hopefully someone far cleverer than me will see something in these logs that may lead to a resolution. I checked out this link https://freek.ws/2015/05/16/how-to-fix-perflib-error-1008/ and sadly it appears that this type of error is not usually associated with day to day issues in running windows and applications.

The one entry that caught my eye in the above link was reference to lodctr /r which has popped up a number of times here on the helpcentre, you may wish to try this (run cmd as administrator)

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/it/post/164673

If the problem persists (please advise) I am sure someone from Incomedia will take a look at this and/or offer other suggestions.

Thank you

I tried the comand prompt (Admin) lodctr /R and though successful did not solve. In fact this morning I cannot load at all. I started at 7:00 AM. It's now 9:07AM and I still have not opened successfully.

In the past, when I uninstall, I have installed from the orginal file I downloaded in October 2016. Once it is installed it runs like a dream and is very fast and perfect. On opening it upgrades to the latest version, and always after upgrading it becomes slow.

Is there a place where I can download the latest instalation file, so as soon as it is run, it won't upgrade, or do I just download the demo?

Thanks

Hello Rod,

I would suggest you to check following link which contains informations on how to proceed to solve it:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc775059(v=ws.10).aspx

All the DLL files which generates the error are Windows System files in C:\WINDOWS\system32 (wmiaprpl.dll, msdtcuiu.DLL, Secur32.dll, esentprf.dll) and these seems to not work correctly anymore.

You can download the latest installation file from your profile under the Download section.

Many thanks!
