Hosting account update IP address problem

Earlier this week GoDaddy "assigned a new IP address"
Now they say I must manually update my A records to point to a new IP address
I can't find how to do this.

Michael, this is normally done with the company that does the registration for your domain name. Whoever you registered your domain name with almost certainly have online chat assistance and could easily point you in the right direction.

My domain name is registered through GoDaddy.
I have contacted them twice and both times they say it is through my website software.
Now that I have contacted X5, you are saying it is through GoDaddy.
Frustrating to say the least.
Meanwhile my website which needs updating 4-5 times a week is useless.
Check if the ftp area is still reachable, if they are uploading with the ip address for the upload, they should adjust it

I have two websites, one was working and one was not.
When I compared the two, the one that was working had the "passive ftp" boxed checked.
So I checked that box in the one that was not working and "voila" both websites are now working great.
