Problems with Demo Version

I have just downloaded the demo version of Website X5 14 Evo, but I am experiencing many problems.
- When I begin a project, it takes a very long time for the template to load.
- The program hangs frequently, sometimes for up to 5 minutes.
- Saving sometimes takes a very long time (and the files aren't very large or complex...even the first save, just after choosing a template, took 10 minutes, without exaggeration).
- When I add a text block to a page, I'm not able to input any text.
- Similarly, I can't insert text into blog entries. I can create the pages, but I can't put any content into them.
- When I open the preview, the screen is blank.
The concept of the software seems to be just what we need, but so far the demo version isn't convincing me that the software is worth getting.
I am running Windows 10 Professional, 64 bit, 12 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, and Intel Core i7-4510U CPU.

Update: After restarting my computer, I opened Website X5, and for the past 15 minutes, it's just been on the loading screen (see screenshot). The icon in the center is moving, so the program isn't frozen. But nothing is loading.
Tyler, this sounds more like a hardware issue than a software issue, from your description it sounds like Windows is have trouble saving and opening files (but it could be antivirus/firewall issues I guess). Is this PC very old? Is it possible to check the hard disk (from an admin cmd prompt, run chkdsk c: /r)?
It's a Intel Core i7-4510U CPU
Hello Tyler,
Please try following procedures:
- Open the windows start menu and search for cmd.exe and run it with the right click as Administrator.
- In the Command Prompt enter following command:
lodctr /R
- Press enter
Once done if there was no error message, procedd to repair the .NET Frameworks by following these steps:
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. Clear also the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 (or 4.7) and then click on OK.
After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and 4.6 (or 4.7) and then click ok.
Please keep me updated.

Thanks for your reply. I completed a chkdsk scan, and it returned no errors. I also ran the lodctr /R command, which worked fine, and I disabled both versions of the .NET framework, restarted my computer, reenabled both, and restarted my computer again. So far, I'm not noticing any improvement in the functioning of the software.
Tyler, I am at a loss to explain the problem, but just in case, if you disconnect the internet from your PC does the performance improve significantly?
As a second test, if you start a brand new project (select any template), put in any domain name (under website address URL), save it, close wx5 then open WX5 and open the new project is it fast?

Good news and bad news...but mostly bad news. On my system, I uninstalled both demos and reinstalled only the Pro demo. It installed and launched quickly...but now it's still hanging (at 95%) on creating the project files. I had already previously tried creating a project, saving it, closing out, and reopening the project, but that didn't change anything. Once this project file loads, I will try disconnecting the internet.
Also‑‑whenever I install the demo file, it also installs Eorezo Adware on my computer. Fortunately I have a program (Reason Core Security) to catch that and remove it quickly. But I'm concerned: does the full paid version also contain this adware? I don't want to be having people in my organization installing adware on their computers.
The good news, though: Last night I asked a friend to install the demo on the virtual Windows machine on his Mac. It took forever to download, but once it finished and was installed, it worked fine on his system, even on the VM. I could edit text, I could see previews, and there was no lagging or hanging. So quite possibly this is an issue regarding something on my computer specifically (back to the bad news...).

I have tried now with disconnecting the internet, and no improvement. Still can't insert text into blogs or other text fields; still can't see any previews; still lags/hangs when saving, and sometimes when clicking "back", "okay", or "next". ... :-/
Tyler, the full version does not include any adware, but to my knowledge neither should the demo.
Where are you downloading the demo from https://www.websitex5.com??
Autore
Yes, I am downloading directly from the websiteX5 website.

For want of a better solution, can I suggest you remove (uninstall) ALL of your 3rdparty (non microsoft) antivirus/malware apps. Assuming you have the registration details you can reinstall after testing if you wish.
In view of the potential for you to have malware on your PC in spite of Reason Core Security (http://au.pcmag.com/software/48514/review/reason-core-security) I also recommend you run either malwarebytes or superantispyware over your PC before using WX5.
Please let us know the result.

Thank you, I will give that a try. In the meanwhile, I wanted to let you know that I've installed it on a virtual machine (also running Windows 10 pro) on my computer, and it works, although it's very slow (but that's probably a consequence of it being a virtual machine with a smaller hard drive and less RAM). But I am able to type in text fields and see previews.
As to your suggestion, which I will still try, I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 and Reason Core Security, in case either of those have known compatibility issues with WebsiteX5.

I uninstalled both RCS and KIS, uninstalled WSX5, and reinstalled WSX5 (Evo). The program functioned normally. I then reinstalled RCS; the program continued to function. I reinstalled KIS, and the program still continued to function. Finally, I installed WSX5 (Pro), and it also functioned. So, apparently, there was a conflict between the installed versions of either RCS or KIS, which, upon reinstalling them (and potentially getting some update, although I [thought I] kept the programs up‑to‑date) fixed the problem. Thanks for your help!

I spoke too soon. After backing out of the test project and attempting to start a new project (in WSX5 Pro), it is now hanging for more than 10 minutes at 95% in "creating project files" (after selecting the template)...
I've gone into KIS and made sure everything possible for WSX5 Pro was set for "allow" and that nothing is being blocked by KIS. I can't figure out what the problem is.

Following up on the previous correction: I again uninstalled KIS, and WSX5 resumed functioning. However, then RCS flagged the aforementioned adware, and I clicked "remove". Almost immediately, the program stopped functioning. I went into RCS and reinitialized the removed adware. When I go into the blog to add or edit a post, the post contents initializes as if it will take content, but immediately stops functioning before I can put anything in.
According to RCS, here's the info about the adware:
Threat name: Adware.Eorezo.RE
Details: This is part of hte Eorezo downloader which may display advertisements in the browser as well as bundle additional offers, mostly adware and other potentially unwanted software.
Location: C:\Program Files\website x5 v14 - professional demo\cefsharp.browsersubprocess.exe
File Details:
Publisher: The CefSharp Authors (unverified)
Display: CefSharp
Description: CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess
Version 57.0.0.0
Tyler, put an exception into RCS (or KIS), this is a false positive. I suspect RCS ( that is why I sent you the review, it does not come highly recommended) If you can't work out how to add an exception, or WX5 continues to give trouble after re-install, I strongly recommend removing Reason Core Security permanently. Any ongoing problems after this and we may have to look a Kaspersky.
I too have issues with X5 Pro, After catching adware on startup the screen hangs when loading and will not startup... have to reload software to allow adware to stay???
WHY IS THERE ADWARE?
According to RCS, here's the info about the adware:

Fred, assuming you downloaded from Incomedia/Website X5, there is no malware/spyware.
RCS is the problem, it is throwing up false positives. If you cannot whitelist WX5 and it's dependencies, remove RCS from your system.
