Most web hosts offer this service because it is the goose that continually lays golden eggs, you give them money, they place the SSL certificate and they configure your htaccess file (& you pay up every year), alternatively you can purchase an SSL certificate and then ask your host to install and configure your site (this is what I did, but it did cost $35 for the installation), lastly, if your host does not want you to save money you can try to get the instructions off them.

From your point of view nothing much changes (just change your domain name to https://www.yozgattacicekci.com/ in settings after the ssl cert is installed), from the users point of view, when they go to your site it is secure.

It makes google happy - I am just not sure how they profit from this extortion.
