Upload issueI
Autore: Martin R.Hi,
I've recently upgraded to v15 with few issues.
Managed to conver from the previous version and upload.
Just went to make some furtehr changes and they don't seem to be taking.
I created a new menu which doesn't show.
I removed the entry page
So I upload and it seems to all go ok.
I click on the link "Your website is now online" (or whatever it is and it takes me to the website.
Entry page is still there and new page does not appear in the menu.
I have tried the following to remedy this
1. Tried refreshing my browser.
2. Cleared my cache.
3. Tried using other browsers and also my phone.
4. Have tried re-uploading the entire website (not just changes made)
If I manually enter the url for the new page it come up, so it's there, just not linkled to my menus.
When I enter manually it DOES appear on my menu, but then the next time I go to my site it is removed from my menu again.
Side issue: I have found v15 to be MUCH slower than v11
I need to wait for quite a few seconds apparently for images to load every time I visit a page.
Is there an easy answer for this? Images are all the same as I used on the v11 site, they just seem to bog down now.
Thanks
Martin

New menu page that is not appearing www.wholesale.madebyearth.com.au/essential-oil-pendants.html
Martin, first off you have 2 index pages. index.php (old entry page) and index.html (current home page), you also have home.html. Select upload the website to internet (step5) and delete index.php
If the new page still does not appear, please advise and include page name.
If you have not already done so, you need a full upload (not new and changed), and if the preview is correct but the online version is not, then I would recommend deleting all of the existing site online and then uploading afresh.
If a page does not appear correctly, please press ctrl+f5 to refresh browser.
Assuming all goes well, you can improve the image load times by running the image optimiser

Thanks Esach
Removed index.php and now the page appears properly.
Do I need to do anything with the home.html?
Downloading Image Optimiser now and will test that one out.
I try to keep all of my images between 10 and 100kb already, but I'll see if that makes a difference.
Martin
Martin, home.html can be deleted, but if you do nothing it should just sit there and never get updated.
With the slow load, optimizer (given maximum control) hopefully will improve matters. You appear to have been lucky. When I upgraded a shop from an old version I had to replace ALL images of products :-(

Yeah that happened to me last time I upgraded so was cautios with this one.
The slowness seems to me most annoying in that the drop down menu won't activate until all of the images on that page have loaded.
I've got the image optimizer and will play with that on the weekend and see what difference it makes
Thanks again
