Change from VAT to Sales Tax

I am building a website for my wife. We would like to put sales tax on the website. But it seems that we only have the ability to add VAT or disable it. Any American who sees VAT is going to wonder what the heck it is.
Can someone please tell me if there is an ability to change this so that way it will look like a normal USA website?

Go to 1 Settings - General - Site Language and right click on the icon (sheet with pen). Now you can enter the term VAT on the top right to search. Change all entries with VAT (about 6x?) to sales tax and check if the presentation is ok everywhere.
