I'm new to Website X5 , have the pro version 2019.2.7 and paid for the RSS feed utility . I am trying to link it to one of the news feed of the bbc or sky.
I have selected the option "news from another website RSS Feed" and the URL I'm using is
http://feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/uk/rss.xml which is off the BBC news web page . I've not set anything in the settings under RSS Feed.
Update Frequence is set to Every Day, Displayed news is 6 , style is list
It shows on my site " Cannot open link "
I have viewed it in difrent browsers and says the same.
My website is www.quantiquote.co.uk
Need help please as cannot see solution anywhere.
Thanks in advance

Just tested,
It works, see: https://andreweb.nl/x5_test/page-59.php
Did the same as you described.
See that the object RSS feed is up to date. (press in step4 top right manage button, and look for objects that need update, or check the rss feed object

Hi Andre ,
thanks for your reply . have done what you said , gone to manage and clicked on update all the objects obviously updated site and still the same .
not sure what you mean check the rss feed object ?
With update I mean eather update all, or check the rss feed update, it wll also give you an update message, but if updated all you can check the rss feed utility seperatly, it should not give you any messag for updating if you have the latest version (in the manage part in step 4)
So next, can you view mine example, does it work there?
If not check firewall maybe that is interfering.
one other thing to check, see that your website adres in step 5 when uploading, above, website address (URL)
Did you do a full upload then pressed F5 in your browser to clear memory and test?

Hi Andre
I have done what you asked and still not working .
i can view yours and it is working . I have also deleted the rss feed from the site , uploaded without it , then re installed it and its is still not working . I am lost .
I am when I upload getting this message "The following Test Failed : PHP Version (minimum Version required 5.6.0): 5.2.17 Don't know if this is something to do with it ?
I have attached screed shot of my setting in the RSS Feed hope this helps
I'm just lost with it.

Hi Andre
just reading another answer on another post about same thing connecting to exteranl website , it says check you have set up correctly in step 1. I have not set anything for the rss feed in step 1 is that right ? If i do need to I have no Idea what to put ?
Thanks for you help so far
That is for older versions, it's now step5, as described with picture in my previous post.
Check in your admin panel (write /admin behind your website adres and login with admin, password that can be found in x5 (settings advanced tab and acces management).
Do the test and see if PHP version is within specs.

done that ie typed www.quantiquote.co.uk/admin into google browser and it come back with this
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /websites/LinuxPackage01/qu/an/ti/quantiquote.co.uk/public_html/res/x5engine.php on line 4359
Sorry don't have the knowlege to understand what it means . Have been into my hosts web server and cannot find any deatails of PHP version.
Regards peter
Don't type it in at the google search, type it in your html adress of your browser. Or better yet, visit your site with your browser. once in view type /admin behind the adress of your website.
Then the admin panel inlog wil appear.
But you could also check with your hosting party if you have PHP support in the package where you rent your website space.
Eather way you need PHP Best is version 7 or higher, to show this feed.
