Shopping cart never has worked properly

Since i have had this software none of the sites i have made work properly with shopping
firstly the cart sends out the order before raising the paypal payment which makes the whole thing pointless,
and curently i have another issue where the continue shopping button does not work once the cart has been emptied, also i want to change the text in the checkout areas but can find no where do edit these, also same with customer details boxes and want to change the first name box to game name but cant ?

"the continue shopping button does not work once the cart has been emptied" - what is your version of php hosted. The minimum is 5.6. I recommend 7.1. Check the server logs for errors and blocked requests.If such records exist, then this must be corrected.
