Hi,
I have just tested the new Payment System through PayPal. I purchased two products from my site, one using PayPal with user registration, and one using a credit card payment without user registration. They both work without any problems. also integrating the payment system was easy.

David, Not sure if you can help, but i set up PP new method, Fairly easy and painless... Connected accounts with no issues, but when pressing new Paypal button, after integration it just goes into a loop and goes to my error page. it tries to connect to PP but then just bins the process... I am awaiting Incomedia to have a look and advise..

Hi Andy,
Have you received confirmation from PayPal that the account is activated? if not contact PayPal and find out what the requirements are the may vairy from country to country. I have had a Verified PayPal account for many years and its probably the only reason I did not run into any problems

Do you know is there a change in the number of local currencies that this new PayPal payment "platform" now supports?
Until now, you must have a webshop in EUR, USD, AUD, CHF...and in some other currencies, so you could be able to use PayPal - I couldn't use with the prices set in my local currency: Croatian Kuna (HRK).
I could pay someone in HRK (it will be automatically converted to EUR or USD) - but I cannot have my webshop in HRK and receive payments via PayPal.
Hopefully something has changed in that sense... I do not want to install the BETA version - so I'm fishing for the answer this way!
Don´t unterstand why I have problems. Do you have any settings in paypal activated to go back to your website after payment? I do all steps in paypal and then I got the information from paypal it was successfull, but after coming back to Website X5 I got the following message!

Hi Sinsa,
Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question I have never tried to add other currencies as I only sell in Australia. Contact PayPal to see if they can Help, I find them extremely helpful.

Hi Marco,
The message suggests to me that your login information or location may not be correct, Also is your website secure? and are you using a static IP or a shared IP address as this may also cause problems with connections to the PayPal gateway.
Regards,
Dave Wilson
yes my website ist secure, I use a shared IP adress, I´ll chech totay afternoon, thanks for the hints!
David, re activated? Im certain the Paypal account is activated as have been using the account for the last 6months without issues, with revenues of up to £1000 pounds per day, account was put on hold at start of lockdown as it was changed from personal to business, but all good so far until i tried to change the paypal method...
@ David
Thank you for the feedback!
I have tried to contact PayPal, but its new messaging system is super-non friendly...
Only one line of visible text, the message is difficult to scroll etc.
It seems that PayPal is doing everything to cut down the number of messages from the users...
I negotiated a much better rate with Stripe - I'd love to see Stripe integrated.
I'm paying half of what paypal was charging me.
@Adrian
Yep, we have been communicating this with Incomedia dozens of times - I have even got a personal message from 2checkout IT team saying that they would like to work with Incomedia on enabling 2checkout to be used with WSX5... but no initiative from the Incomedia side.
PayPal has now upgraded its credit cards processing and the chance of seeing Stripe/2checkout it's even slimmer.

Hi Andy,
Check out this thread from Incomedia https://guide.websitex5.com/solution/articles/44001981953 it explains what is required to setup a Business account with PayPal. I think the only reason I did not have any issues is I have had the account for many years and already verified my account by proving my identity. I also think an SSL certificate and static Ip address on your website may have a bearing on how you connect to the PayPal gateway although I cannot confirm this.

Dave Wilson
David,
Thanks for your input. I have managed to solve the issue, with a little help from the developers. As usual - User Error!! Nothing to do with PP account apart from - for future Ref. ensure that the website URL is the correct one. eg. https, and not http not a big difference ( and generally will work in most cases) but can cause problems as i found out with the PP issue. All sorted now. - All my sites have SSL cert's attached to them.
Thanks once again.
