A cross button has started appearing on the hime page just below the central text, see screenshot.  This conincided with me removing a picture and replacing with text.  I have also had an advertising message pop up but I removed that some time ago.

Hello Michael,

Please hold down the CTRL key whilst entering the Preview mode in WebSite X5.  Allow the preview to build to completion (watch the progress bar near the top of the screen), then do a FULL export of ALL files to the server in Step 5 (in other words, not just those recently modified).

Clear your browser cache and test to see if the issue is now resolved.  It may not be, but it would be best to try the above first.

Kind regards,

Paul

@Michael,  i think it has to do with your advertising message,  as when clicked it disappears. It looks like you still have the advertising message boxed ticked, but no image or image has been removed... I would go into settings and check that you have unchecked all the boxes and removed any references to the Advertising message.  That should fix it....

@Michael,  i think it has to do with your advertising message, ... ... ...

... I confirm; ... so Michael, if you can't remove it with the options provided, then you can remove it with a simple EXTRA code:

<style> #splash { display: none !important } </style>

.

ciao

@ Michael,  see screenshot taken from my mobile device, i would presume this is the missing image as it is showing on a viewpoint for mobiles... Should be easy enough to remove  via settings..

As stated by Andy, this does appear to be an advertising message, you should be able to remove it by going to step 1, advanced tab, advertising message
