Parse Error  en

When submittting a form I get this error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ':', expecting ';' or '{' in /home/content/60/10577960/html/res/x5engine.php on line 5460

Previously I was advised that this was a PHP version issue as the Go Daddy server  that my client is using is running anold PHP version. He has now upgraded the serever to the latest PHP version. I no longer get a PHP version error mesage when I upload the website but I still cannot send a form. From what I have read there is a syntax error on line 5460. How do I fix this in the website file prior to uploading it to the server. Clearly there must be a way fo doing this without having to log on to the server to do  it. I spoke to someone at Go Daddy today and he didn't have a clue.

Any help would be very much aprreciated.

Thanks

Derek

Hello Derek,

Exactly what version number of PHP is currently installed on this particular server?

Can you give a link to the website please?

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I am not sure what PHP version Go Daddy is using but it is above 7.1. This is the webpage  that has the form on it that does not work.

https://telescopicpoolenclosures.com/retractable-low-pool-enclosures-copy.html

It is currently a hidden page as  there is still work to be done on it. The form on the contacts page on the site sits in an iframe and is hosted on my Ionos server. This is the only way I could get a form to work. My customer insisted on staying with Go Daddy, hence why I am having t he problem.

Thanks Derek

Unfortunately PHP is not correctly configured on that particular server, Derek.

If the PHP installation was healthy then your online control panel would be accessible via the following URL:

https://telescopicpoolenclosures.com/admin/login.php

However, this throws the same error as in your initial post.  I must stress that this is NOT anything to do with the WebSite X5 scripts...  neither should any of the WebSite X5 scripts be manually edited...  this would only compound the problems.

Ask GoDaddy to run phpinfo() on your server, which will give you lots of useful information about the current PHP configuration, but first and foremost will tell you EXACTLY what version of PHP is currently installed.
