Changes in header not in all pages  en

Changes in Header don't affect all pages anymore.

I renamed one page and changed it's order to get room for an new product line.

(if I added one more page then the hamburger menu changed in a button, so that's why i changed the name of a not so important page into a new page name, instead of adding a new page)

Now not all the pages get the new header. some pages still have the old pagename in the hamburgermenu. And these pages also have an old text "Corona update...." that i wanted to delete (orange text in header)

Where can I set that all headers have to be the same on all pages?

See the difference of the headers and hamburger menu on these two pages:

Hello Joris,

The headers are identical when I view the links you supplied.

This looks like it could be a cache issue.  Clear your browser cache by holding down the CTRL key whilst pressing F5 to reload each page in turn...  this will flush the old page from your browser cache, and load the new page showing your edits and changes.

Alternatively use an inPrivate or incognito browsing window, or a completely different browser to test.

Kind regards,

Paul

It would also be a good idea to hold down the CTRL key whilst entering the Preview mode in WebSite X5.  Allow the Preview to build to completion (watch the progress bar near the top of the screen) then export ALL files to the server in Step 5.

Thanks for the very fast response Paul.

Before I posted the question, I tried in step 5 to upload all the files. Also opened the internetpages in incognito windows.

After your response I tried to hold donw CTRL key when previewing, and waited 'till the progress bar was ready. (took about one minute)

I still have the different headers.

Now I tried to make a little change to the 4th page. (set some text in bold style) this change doesn't apear in the preview or in the new ALL files upload. last week I had trouble with the hamburger menu becoming a button so I restored a backup that could have been made with an older version. maybe ther is the problem? can I install the older version of X5?

Yes, you can install an older version of WebSite X5 if you have an older IWZIP file backup which you can import into it.  Newer IWZIP files cannot be imported into older versions of WebSite X5.  So, for example, you can't import a v2020.3.6 file into v2020.3.4 software.

Which version of WebSite X5 would you like to go back to?  Do you have the necessary setup file?  If not, we may be able to help.

Yes, I see that now, Joris...  I'm not quite sure what is going on there.

The header is the same though, in both cases.

Actually no...  I do see a difference in the header too at very low resolutions...  there is a 'Corona update' on this page:

It might be best to delete all existing files from the server and upload afresh, Joris.

There seems to be an odd mix of old and new files on the server at present.

This page for example:

https://www.raats.be/index.html

...was generated by a completely different web design package!

(old sitemap here: https://www.raats.be/sitemap.html)

In the preview, before I load it up, I still have the old and the new header mixed. Also if I save the website to an empty folder on harddisk.

It seems these pages with the old header are locked in the IWZIP file.

I never had problems with the old pieces of websites. They are in very old HTML. I kept those pages and folders because in the early ages these pages where often found by Google. Often people find me that way for old spareparts. I can understand that the old files mixed in make it more difficult for you to find the problem. Maybe I can see if i have a backup of those old pages and then remove them for testing and then later upload them again to keep them existing for google archive or peoples bookmarks.

So I think I will try to use an older backup and publish that to my harddisk and see what happens if I change the locked pages.

The problem with te hamburger button came when I wanted to add an extra page 17/11/2020, so I did go back to that backup and then deleted all shoppingcart items and then imported my newest CVS file again to have the latest products (generated by latest X5 version).

I see I have no more backups in v2019_2, So I think I have to go back to v2019_1 and  Could you send me the install of v2019_1?

Does the shopping CVS exported with v2019_3 import in v2019_1? (new fuctions added since v2019_1 but I dit not used the new functions yet)

These are the older backups I have. it seems that I have backups older than a month in v2020_2 but my latest files are in version 2019_3 (I only installed the advised updates)

Is n't that strange that I now save as version 2019_3 and I have backups in version 2020?

I will now duplicate this first file and see what happens when I open the duplicate.

Now I see the history of the updates is orderd from right to left, so tomorow I will try to import my newer 2020_2 backup. Maybe converting from version 2019_3 to 2020_3 gave the problem.
