I mainly show my photos on my website. The new V9 dramatically slowed dowm my site. I am thinking of turning back to V8. I dont use big files, V8 did not have any problems with loading, but V9 is very, very slow. I am not satisfied with new site created by V9 :-(
For your reference see www.smato.sk

i've noticed too that it seems to take my site a lot longer to load in V9
BUT, i'm rebuilding mine and only a third of it is there so i hate to think how slow its going to be when its finished.
when is this post going to be answered by Incomedia staff ??????????????????

good question Si Robinson! I am waiting for the response too. My website is slower than before. Loading of pictures on my website www.smato.sk takes ages! I am not used to it.
It was Downgrade from V8 to V9, not the Upgrade.
With "The new V9 dramatically slowed down my site", you are speaking about the WebSite X5 use or about the online website use?

Hi Mirko. Both. Programm slowed my laptop and exported Project slowed my online website. I didn´t have this kind of problem with V8. Just try visit www.smato.sk and you will see how long it will take to load pictures and slideshows. V8 was perfect in compare to V9. Realy slowed down my online website. I show pictures (not big files of course) and I was realy satisfied with V8 speed and online performance. Now something happend and I am not satisfied anymore...
You can try to change your parallel processes count from WebSite X5's settings on the first screen.
I can see you protected your images from download. This feature uses flash to load the images, so the whole website load is slower. However i can see your website without load delays from my connection.

Hi Mirko. I protected my pics with V8 too. Speed was OK with this setting. I decreased the Nr.of processes in V9 to 7 but I am not sure it will help...
I´ve tried load my site with 4 different connections, different places, different computers. Still the same, slow loading. Connection was fast, no problem.
WebSite X5 Evolution 8 Images protection was different, it don't use flash.
You can even try setting low process count. Sometimes concurent connections to FTP server, depending on the server, can decrease the connection speed.

Today I tried to turn off the HTML page protection. Loading time Difference between protected and unprotected site was minimum, only a few second. I think this is not the reason of slowing down my online site. There must be something else... I hope Incomedia will find that "slowmaker" ASAP and we will have update immediatelly.
I have the same problem. Only have a few photos on the site, but its very slow to display photos. Home page on has one pic and its slow to load ..
see http://fundraising-casino-wellington.org.nz/
other pages also slow. Had a look at www.smato.sk and agree that it is slow to initial display.

Hi. Adobe flash is that "slowmaker". All pics should load under some faster application(Java maybe). Flash has to load the whole presentation first, than shows it. If you have 20-30-100 pics in presentation (slideshow), loading time will take ages.
In V8 it was much faster (slideshow), because it was not use Flash for slideshow. Another slow point is If you have enabled HTML protection of your site. All pics loads as Flash too :-(
Hi Has this problem been resolved my pictures take an eternity to load, everybody is compaining their computers lock up when they go to the album page so its not just my pc its 20 or so others.
What is being done ?
Hi Stuart,
can you send me a link to your website, please?
Hi Mirko
Its www.philantropic.org.uk
But images are password only ot members they are only of social functions dinner dances boat trips etc.. but our older members dont want them on show !!!!!!
Can you help without seeing them ??
Hi Stuart,
As Mirko said above, if the site is loading slower than before, make sure the images are not protected using Flash. You can protect the HTML code using the relative option at step 1, this won't slow down your site.
