I need further clarification on auto registration, contact form object, log in, shopping cart and how they interrelate with each other.

First we set it to Auto Registration in access management>>settings.

1. After a customer registers, how do we set it so it will redirect them to the log in page? Or does this automatically happen when live?

2. Are there any advantages to requiring for the shipping information when a customer registers or is it better to just have the customer do it in the check out process?
