I've recently started up a blog using the WebsiteX5 comment system. I have set it up to show comments after admin approval.
The user can leave comments but when I go to accept them in the /admin panel I get the 'Do you want to approve this comment'. Click OK and nothig happens. Does anyone have any pointers? I suspect it is something to with the database setup.

As an update. I can't delete them either. Same thing.

Further update. Using phpMyAdmin I can manually manipulate the approved field in the database from 0 to 1 which publishes the comment.
So it looks like the blog admin page is unable to update the database for whatever reason.
Hello. What is your PHP version, what is your database version?

PHP rolled back to 7.4 from 8 to get the comments to work.
Database client version: libmysql - 5.6.43
