Ok, did not get a answer to my last post, so i am creating a new one with some of the same issues.
1. When uploading website i get error messages on 2-3 files 90 % of the times, i have to re-connect to my server several times.
2. Images dissapearing and are showing the wrong path like this: c://Users//Bruker//Pictures//profiles//nightology.jpg instead of: http://spotmylist.com/images/nightology.jpg
I have contactet my server provider, and they say it's not a server issue or something they can do. I also have deleted all the files on my server and uploaded the whole website files but nothing is changed
Postato il
Hello Christer,
to problem number 1: can you send me a screenshot of the errormessage? This would make it easier for me to find out what causes the problem.
to problem number 2: normally the dissapearing with images has to with the changing of the image path. How did you upload the pictures?
kind regards,
Lisa

The error message that appears is just the red "error" messages when files didn't get uploaded in the upload process.. I don't have the screenshot at the time because im on a different computer.
I have used website x5 v7 v8 and v9.. I never change the path, it's stored on the same page that every other picture on my server is stored. But it seems like sometimes they appear, and sometimes they dissapear.. if you go through my website you will se several pages where images are not displaying. I upload my pictures like i upload all the other files in my website x5 (via x5 )
Autore
Here are the screenshot - All my pictures are stored at the same place, and if i do a new upload, the error-message goes to a new image, and the one with the error message gets uploaded
Autore
Also, if you go to this site: http://spotmylist.com/musicians--2-.html you will se that the image to the right has this path: http://spotmylist.com/images/evanesence.png
and the image to left has this path: c://Users//Bruker//Pictures//profiles//laura jansen.png
Both pictures are stored at the same place and uploaded the same way :S

Now I've also tried to export the project including images and everything to a different folder just to see if that helped. What happend is that the image i linked to in my last post appeared again, but now there are other images on the site that is gone..this is really getting frustrating, because.. this website is only a hobby project, but i also run a website for a big yacht-company, and im a afraid to upload anything to that site now.
hi christer,
i have this problem too.....
http://answers.websitex5.com/post/24874
this happens since i use evo9.
hi lisa,
it is surely a software-problem...please turn on the inco-machine and stop it soon....
Autore
Yes im pretty sure this is a software problem, because i've used the software since evo 7, and this is have never happened, i know about the wrong image path problem, but this is not that
Autore
Lazlo
Btw thanx for posting this, good to see im not alone, looks like you have the exact same problem
Hello Christer, hello Lazlo,
the solution ofr you might be to install the beta version.
You can find this if you follow the link http://beta.websitex5.com/beta_en.html
You will find more information about how this works on there as well.
Please be aware that this is only the beta version and not the official upgrade.
kind regards,
Lisa
hi lisa,
no - it isn´t fixed in the beta - my problem exists with the newest beta too.
i´ve written since evo9 is starting with this problem with claudio in your stuff - he said they work on the problem...but they can´t find the reason.
it has nothing to do with the user´s work - it is wrong in the software - believe me...

Ok, here's the thing i have the beta version on one pc, and the stable on the other, this is does not help. This gotta be a software bug, I also found even more post's with the same issues, i payd for a stable version of x5, but when images just dissapear, how can you call it stable. Sorry if i seem angry, but it's kinda frustrating when you work for a company, creating their website, but can't upload more stuff to it. Hope you take this serious, and look into the problem
(sorry my bad english)
Hello Christer,
I am sorry to read that your problem still exists.
Concerning problem 1: You can try to reduce the number of FDP connection (use 1 instead of 3 or 4)
Concerning problem 2. The phad you wrote above let me suggest that the program can´t find the phad. Please delete the image and import it again.
I hope it will work now,
kind reagrds,
Lisa

My FTP connection is fine, because when i upload to another site that i have, i am using other tools to upload, with no error in connection. I also tried what you said about reducing.
What does help concering my problem nr2 is that i go in to the block where the image is, click on it or something.. upload it again, and it's back, but then there is another image that is gone.. it looks like your software have problem reading the path for all images. This got to be something to your software, and not a user issue..like you see in the post's above here, i am NOT alone having these issues
Autore
And what do you mean by "still exists" ? I didn't get any solution to the problem, so of course it still exist.
I really need a good answer of how to get my website to function normal again, this have never before been an issue, i do use alot of the feature Evo V9 give me, so i can't go back to Evo 8 either.. and like i said before, i work for a yacht-company that depends on me, and that the websites are up and running
Hello Christer,
I am sorry that I could not come up with a good solution so far. Therefore I ask you to send us your iwproject file (you can find it in the project's folder, it's called project.iwprj) to this email addres: file@answers.websitex5.com
In the Subject you have to write: Lisa 25180
Please let me know if you use a software like ccleaner as well.
kind regards,
Lisa
Autore
lisa,
the problem with //-image-pathes is not only one from christer....
do you like to get all user-files on your server to solve the problem?
this can´t be helpfull....
please give us an ANSWER from your stuff when this big-big-problem is solved.....
Autore
I've emailed you the project file, but like Laszlo says.. I think you may look at your own system.. but I really hope you get something out of this.. please get back to me (and if you could re-open this post as not solved, it would be great)
Hello Christer,
thank you for sending us your file.
After taking a look at it we asume that the problem might be caused of the folder where the images are stored.
dropbox is a file sharing service and the folder you use to store the files is always scanned for new files to store or old files to delete, so this could be the cause of the images problem.
Please clone your project and copy the images from the dropbox folder to a "pure" folder. Then, in the cloned project, you should try to replace the dropbox images with the ones in the other folder (which isn't scanned).
That should solve the problem.
kind regards,
Lisa
hi lisa,
as i wrote above i have the same problem with //-Pathes built by the software.
all images in my project are in the same folder....but some are sometimes gone....
this isn´t a problem of the folder.....
hi Christer,
change your folder like lisa said - i´ve also made a new folder under C: like inco told me - but this doesn´t helped....make sure that your images-names are without ä,ü or similar, because this cant be taken by evo9 (in my project it is this way)
Hello Lazlo,
the problem with //-Pathes appears if the project is build with verson 9.0.0.
In this case I kindly ask you to import every image file again.
kind regards,
Lisa
hi lisa,
this might be, but the images which now are gone are added to the project after working with 9.04. or later - the good thing is, it only happens ONE time with ONE image, when it´s clicked again in the project it is stable, but then comes another after a while...but it really happens also with the newest beta....
you mean to import all images? how can i do this without hand-work?
Autore
No...I imported my project to dropbox for a few days ago, the problem appeard long before that..i just did that for not loosing anything, but that did not cause any problem
Autore
In fact, i would recommend using dropbox as your backup thingy.. , never had an issue with it, and it's a good way of always having a backup if something goes wrong, the wrong image path thing, is not caused by drobox, because it has happened long before i tried that solution
Autore
Ok, now i have tried it all i think
And here are the problem, AGAIN..
If you go to http://spotmylist.com/musicians--1-.html you will see that one image is not displaying, and the path is:
C://Website X5//Images//paul oakenfold.png does one image showThe other image next to it (uploaded from the same path, in the same way) :http://spotmylist.com/images/mike-shinoda_ijeu9b45.png
I would NOT be so sure this is an user-issue..
Autore
Is there any update on this issue? Are you trying to find a solution to it? I cannot figure out why this is happening, and i have to say...this has not always been like this..I've been using x5 for a long time..but it's just the last month it have been like this
Hello Christer,
wetried to logon page http://spotmylist.com/musicians--1-.html , but thereappears error "The requestedURL/ musicians-1-.htmlwas not foundonthis server." Can you try to export the site for verify better the error.
@Laszlo:

Hi, well that site i deleted long time ago, when the post was new.. I've given you alot of examples for my problem, but as you see I try to fix the image dissapearing problem when i see it myself by uploading the process until it's fixed.. and than another image on a differen site dissapears. But if you scroll down on the frontpage www.spotmylist.com, you will see a post about Tanner Beard, where the image issue is back..
Autore
Just an update to what site to visit to see the image issue.. http://spotmylist.com/music-festivals-in-spotify.html This is getting really anoying, because this site is only a hobby site, but i also run a site for a yacht firma @ argos-yacht.no, and I don't want to upload stuff to that site if this happens on that site to
Christer, Lisa,
I have the same issue since I'v been using evo 9. One workaround I use that sometimes helps, but is very labour intensive:
- Tag the images with a comment
- Upload the website
- Delete all comments
- Upload the website again.
Seems stupid but works. There must be some software glitch / bug in the program

Patrick, well, i have around 600 images on my site, and im putting in about 50 a day...that would be a very hard workaround for me..i bought a software i beleived worked like it should..hope the people behind x5 are looking into this issue
Hello Christer,
The file path is different when you move the folder where the images are attached. For solve the issue, please try to delete the object image and insert new object image. So you can create a new correct path of the image. This issue is not a bug of WebSite X5 because the path is different and it is normal that software insert this path wrong.
Autore
Ehm... Seriously, please read my posts, the answers you give does not match what's been talking about on this and the other post I had.. I had the images in another path before, the X5-Staff told me to move the folder, and do the following steps you are telling me now, I've already done that. That is not the issue.. I have several times deleted the image object and inserted a new image from the correct path.. I have worked with wx5 for many years now, this issue first appeard after an update about 1 month and a half ago. Sorry for the tone in my letter, but this is getting frustrating, because differen staff-members always does reply to this post, and are telling me to do things i've already done.. No wonder this post have over 35 reply's..and if you read elswhere in the forum, you will also see that im not alone with this issue, this is a new thing happening in X5 V 9
Hello Christer,
I'm sorry for the inconvenience,I will try to do my best to help you solve the issue. Please follow carefully the instructions below:
Please to open the folder that has the image and delete the image. Please open your project and you should try to delete the path of the image from your image object.
Please try to upload new image from a path of your disk local of your pc and try to export all web site online. Maybe, can also try to create a new project with these test and verify if the image appear correctly. Have you try so?
I have the same problems with the program!!! I understood that the program crude and to sell such program it it is simple deception of buyers!!! Incomedia doesn't solve a problem but only to care of sales!!!
I have the same problems with my images disappearing even though exported and seen and then they disappear, showing a file message. It is the same as Kristen and Denis Den. I am just as frustrated as Kristen and it is not really very good as after weeks and lots of desperation I finally thought I'd put my website out to the wider world and it keeps coming up with problems!
I am having this issue oo, most of the times only with .png files, I edit pictures on photoshop usually to remove their backgrounds and save them as .png. and when i upload them on my website i get this error too... Seems to be a software issue.
Relative to the questions about disappearing images after exporting - could I ask Kristen, Denis Den and Jorge L whether they are using windows XP or 7?
Thanks - just a thought that there may be a common denominator.
I am using Windows Vista Home premium 64-Bit. I have tried on my other computer with windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit and still the same problem shows up..
Image Generation Error, it's really frustrating I can't use pictures without backgrounds (.png) just .jpg.
Hello Jorge, hello Ingrid,
I kindly ask you to open your own post. This makes it easier for us to help you.
kind regards,
Lisa
I have done this. Please help quickly. I am participating in an art exhibition and my website details are everywhere - it is very embarrassing when the site is full of "mistakes".
Many thanks in advance.
