Hi, is is possible to publish clear and simple solution for total undefined issue?
I am confused a bit as it is discussed in several topics and several languages; also, i tried to download cart_fix.zip, unfortunatelly i was successful as it is downloded probably broken (invalid file when try to open).
I have also explored it is related to radio's button status / when no change is done during checkout process, the total undefined will appear. Is there any way to avoid this, or is it neccessary to make a notice for customer something like "please refresh page using Ctrl +F5, or please delete cache before next checkout step"?
It is something what will be fixed in next update?
Thank you.

Dear Vladimir,
the issue is caused by your browser cache it has been fixed in our Beta update.
Please proceed as follows:
Reset your browser cache by doing CTRL + F5, only you have to do it, not your clients. After this has been done, please update your program to the latest Beta version and export your entire website again. It will refresh your entire website and everything will get fixed.
Please keep me informed and let me know if I can help you any futher.
Thank you!

Dear Samantha,
thank you. It looks deleting cache solved this. Just info for our customers, what version number has they have installed?
Thank you.
My pleasure!
If they have the last stable version they should have the (9.0.6.1775) if they have installed the latest Beta version we have released last week, they should have the 9.07.1794.

Hi Samantha,
thank you. I have still 1775, no update were available yesterday yet. But may be it is due i have Czech version ...
Anyway, thanks for your help. Have a nice day,
Vladimir
Yes that's because it is still as Beta, it is not stable yet. You can download the beta version from the following page http://beta.websitex5.com/beta_en.html if you wish to test it but please read carefully the instructions before. The stable version will be released very soon.
My pleasure Vladimir!
Have a great day to!

Hello,
This seems to be related to my question:
http://answers.websitex5.com/post/24909
Except the fact that in my case this causes the ideal payments to crash, I also notice the total undefined issue at the same time!
So I can update to beta or wait until the stable version is released.
Good to know it is a known problem and will be fixed soon!
Dear Logologics,
please feel free to test the Beta version in order to find out if your issue has been fixed there. Maybe it is different. If you decide to do so, please remember to read carefully the instructions before hand and remember to create a backup copy of your project.
Thank you!
Hi Samantha,
I am considering the Beta, but a bit reluctant, need to deinstall the beta first to be able to return to the stable version etc?
If I am in the beta program, I cannot do the usual upgrades?
I need to wait for a notice ( e-mail? ) from Incomedia, then upgrade still having the Beta on my computer? I dont get what it all means and what are the consequenties.
If the stable version is released very soon, it might be best to wait?
On the other hand, I will be sure if its related to this problem and/or be able to let Incomedia know that there is another isssue waiting to be fixed?
As you know I need to be able to work with a stable version at all times ( for my clients ) so I am reluctant to do the Beta, not knowing what this will do to projects and the troubles to return to the stable version...
Dear Samantha (incomedia)
I too have this problem and it is causing my customers to abort on checkout as the paypal page fails (because of the undefined total). I need this to be fixed permanently, is there a temporary fix (apart from switching to beta) so that i can continue trading?
You have fixed it in the beta so why not release a proper update ? This is poor customer service.
This is the second time in 6 months that website x has let me down with silly glitches relating to the checkout total, but this one renders all e-commerce USELESS.
I am seriously considering ditching this program and going for something more reliable.
Please advise
Pete
Dear LogoLogics, Peter,
let me explain: first of all the issues you are both having have been solved in our Beta release. We create the Beta version before we release the stable for several reasons:
It really is very easy to use, you simply have to read the instructions first and make sure you create a backup copy of your project. Here you can read all you have to know about it http://beta.websitex5.com/beta_en.html If you don't wish to test it, you don't have to! We will release a stable version shortly.
Thank you for understanding.
Hi Samantha,
Thx for your reaction.
I understandyour reasoning, and ofcourse I can appreciate the fact that Incomedia listens to their customers and makes a lot of improvements.
I still am a big fan of website x5 and think it is a great product.
On the other hand, please understand that we are supposed to be able to work with bug free software once Incomdia released the V9 and started selling it to the public.
Incomedia sells it not only for small private websites, but promotes it from the start to create business websites and webshops.
No wonder business users get, to say the least, a bit frustrated, when they find out, the software was released not fully tested ( other wise all these updates and fixes would not have been neccesary ) and we basicly are being used as guinea pigs ( no offence ).
Our businesses suffer loss, our clients complain to us and our reputation suffers aswell, if the software appears to have lots of not well functioning features.
I know you are doing the best you can at the moment and I appreciate that, I just think we should not be the ones to put hours, days and weeks of testing, stressing and losing clients over this. The one who sells and promotes a product should see to it that its bugs free and fully functional, BEFORE they start selling to the public.
Telling us, if you dont want to test it, you dont have to.....hhhmmm I dont see we have al lot of choise, we are to much involved to just leave it as it is.
Very disappointed. I have 5 sites working on V8 and 1 small one on V9. No way am I going to switch any of the working ones to V9 while this fiasco continues. Any new sites I will create with V8 or another program. Perhaps one that was fully tested BEFORE it was released. You had a Beta testing program which I participated in. If it isn't finished testing then it should still be BETA don't you think?
Without Cheeky Man making sense of all this rubbish I would have gone elsewhere long ago and unless things improve I'll start looking for another software product, preferably one that was developed BEFORE released!

I did the beta upgrade on one computer and published the webshop with it.
There seems to be a great improvement, for this problem does not occure any more in Firefox, Opera, Chroom, Safari ( it did before the beta upgrade )
Yet in IE the problems still occures on some computers, even after emptying the cache and cookies. Some of the computers here, dont have that problem any more.
Incomedia any idea how to fix that please?
It should work on any computer and with all the major browsers, in any case IE as it is still the most used browser.
Yay Yay ... another release soon! At least the problem is being fixed. I do really think the problem was from a much earlier release i.e. ordering more than one product the radio buttons that were checked became unchecked when continuing shopping. I did suggest that Inconmedia place those buttons later in the checkout process avoiding a glaringly obvious problem. The problem is some people place single orders and the other problem is that some people continue shopping for different products. CTRL F5 is a clumsy work around to a bit of code. What is more painful is that different browsers interact with the cookies differently cache or no cache IE9's kingpin handling of cookies under tools seems to have no effect. I would rather them take their time fixing this problem. Yes I understand it affects the bottom line of a business and makes us look like fools ... but like any blushing face it will return to normal.
It has come along way from the initial release of V9 and most of us have gone grey, developed ulcers - contemplated suicide or becoming a nun. At the end of the day it will be fixed and will just be an unpleasant memory like childbirth, paying tax or having your mother-in-law coming to stay for 7 weeks.
Dear Logologics and Flagsa,
we are planning to change the coockies into HTML 5 functions in the future, in order to avoid these kind of issues. This will be released in future updates though, not in the next one.
Hi Samantha,
Good to know Incomedia is aware of the problem and will fix it.
