Locked Pages - I just can't get them to work

I'm really struggling with Locked Pages.
I want to use a simple Manual Registration and have been following videos by Aleksius.
However, after following his guides I just get:
This page isn't working at the moment
{xx}co.uk can't currently handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
and if I export the page to test on the PC, I just get a page of php script - rather than the designed page.

Does the webprovider where you place your website have PHP? see that this is set to v8 or higher with your admin panel from your host.
Or do you use x5 hosting, then it should be sorted.
To be able to test PHP files offline, you need a webserver e.g. XAMPP on your computer.
