I just tried to update my website, but when I opened the program, It said an update was available, so I installed the update, 09/24/2022. After installing the update, i tried to update information on my website. went through the usual process which has been very easy in the past, but now when I tried to export my updated website information, I keep getting an error message, "unable to connect to server, generic error"
I have never had this issue until I updated the program......so now I'm stuck with an non-updateable website!!

Warren, can you uninstall WX5 and do a clean install? You will find the download and registration key in your profile (top right this page)
Please export project (step5) to create an iwzip as a precaution before proceeding.

I tried to export the project, step 5, but received this error message when I tried , "It is not possible to complete the export, the cloud file provider is not running"
Item ...
5 Export > Project export
... (see red arrow) is for the backup copy in case something goes wrong when reinstalling WebSite X5.
If the cloud doesn't want to, then it's better to save it on the computer's hard drive.
Warren, as Daniel said, save to a local HD outside of synchronised folder or even USB drive.
If forced to guess I would say your problems revolve around synchronised folders (one drive?).
Once you have the iwzip created, I would change the default folder to an unsynchrised folder (eg C:\users\yourname\documents\wx5), import the iwzip and advise if all works as expected.
One drive is a known issue, especially when Microsoft insists on moving your documents folder inside a one drive folder

I have been back and forth with my Webspace Provider, One.com, about the error messages I am receiving, "unable to connect to server", "export folder cannot be found", Unable to connect to server, error in folder creation", "unable to connect to server, generic error", "the selected server or destination folder does not match the website url. Do you want to set it now?".........All of this started when I opened Website X5 Pro to update my website information and the program indicated there was a update available, so I updated it....since then, I haven't been able to export my website update online! I WILL NEVER UPDATE THIS PROGRAM AGAIN!!!!!
