Laptop crashed lost Website 5x evolution 9 programs but not datafiles

Purchased new laptop copied data files from usb. Downloaded Website 5x evolution 9. I have all of the files but unable to reload into Website 5x. Was not able to export project from old laptop. How do I retrieve my project in Website 5x? I tried changing the preferences to find the project folder but that did not work.

you need to have the export project files from the working laptop from x5 step5. copy files won't work.
I hope you made a backup earlyer? that might save some time.

Then the website will have to be rebuilt. The texts and images of the website, which can still be reached via the browser, can also be downloaded.
Choose a template with WebSite X5 and create the pages in the sitemap. Then gradually fill the pages with the copied text and images.
I did this to my brother's website 4 years ago to give it a new design and make it easier to edit in Website X5. The website had around 50 pages, it takes some time, but it gets faster and faster over time.

Besides Daniel good tips for rebuild i would strongly suggest to upgrade, the software in V9 is outdated and more and more browsers (phones also) will have diificulty to make your websides view in good order, also the safety is way more up to date then in v9.
Not to mention a lot of new possibility's of the software itself!
