Error Message Says I Need to Reinstall Website X5 Pro, Should I Remove Old
Autore: Cf GuyHi All,
I am getting an error message on my Website X5 Pro program that is requesting me to reinstall the program (Screenshot of error message attached to this post). The error message reads: "An error occurred while running the program.
Please reinstall the program. (The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Local\Incomedia\WebSite X5 -
Pro\dte.log' because it is being used by another process.)"
I first tried a clean Windows restart, but the error message (same one) occurred again, as soon as I tried to open the Website X5 Pro program.
It looks as though I have no choice but to reinstall at this point, but I have some questions first. Typically, I will use an "uninstaller" program ("iObit Uninstaller") to completely remove all traces of previously installed program, then restart computer and do a clean install. However, in this case I don't want to risk loosing copies of my current web site tha have been stored within the current Website X5 Pro program, on the hard drive. So should I just do another install over the currently damaged install of the program? And is this even a good idea to do it this way? Also, will I run into program "activation" problems when trying to reinstall the program?
Any help, experience or advice with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Cfguy
I hope that there is a backup copy (iwzip file) that you could first copy to a USB stick and also rename the folders previously used by WebSite X5 so that nothing is written to or deleted from the old folders during a new installation.
Nobody can guarantee.
Hi there!
I confirm uninstalling the program won't affect your projects, because they are stored in a different directory.
Please let me know if I can be of any further help. Kind regards.
