Gallery/slideshow Problem Firefox & Safari
Autore: Colin A.I previously asked why my slidshow didn't appear in FireFox & Safari. Only to be told it was some code on my page, well I removed all the code and still didn't work, this was on imported sites.
Having bought V9 I have tried it on a brand new site using one of your templates and no extras. Still no slidshow in FF or S. I have even tried using a gallery format, with this the control bar shows but no images are loading, and the bar still acts as though the images are there.
This is down to your coding, you are supposed to be making V9 more compatible, it's NOT by a long way.
If you objects are not compatible with the top four products it shouldn't be on the market.
I am seriously thinking about asking for a refund until you get your act together, and produce a product that will code for all the main browsers.
This is not the only fault, just one of the critical ones for me.

Hi Colin,
try to install the flash player in firefox, and install it also in Internet explorer, infact Website use InternetExplorer for the imPreview.
Autore
Flash Player is up to date, so it's not that.
Your really should use the default browser, favouring IE like that is defunct.
Please check the following sites to see why: www.colin-allison.com/testin & testinb, the first one is built on my prime pc using XP OS, and the second was built on my laptop running 7 OS, both have the same problem.
I have been told that other people get the same results with my sites. Under V8 everything worked perfectly, so WHAT HAVE YOU CHANGED

One more thing I have noticed, although the images don't show the control bar does?
I can't understand why it works in two browsers but not two others. It would be interesting to know if it runs in Opera.
Hi,
in Opera browser your site working correctly.
if i open in firefox and in safary I don't see the slideshow.
But if i create another site with slideshow this work correctly in firefox and safary.
try to recreate this object or page and test again.try to set the setting of firefox and safary to default.
if you do not solve you can send me your project so i can test.
Autore
Tried all you suggested, no good. As with you it has same fault on two computers so shouldn't be browsers, I have them set to basic defaults on the second anyway.
My iwzip file is 1,800 kb so how do I send it to you?
Autore
Just read with interest Marks coment in the thread "In Preview Gallery Doesnt Appear", I just tried exportin two of my troubled sites to disk, both opened and ran thew slideshows in FF & Safari. So why not on the web?
Autore
I have now sent the iwzip file to you, via email.
I received your project file and i test it.
You have image with name "_xxxxx.jpg", rename the files removing the "_" (xxxxx.jpg).
and re-export the site.
Autore
Have changed the file name and added more. Still works from local file but not web.
I try export the project on disk and on internet (changing the name file from "_xxx.jpg" to "xxx.jpg") and work perfectly in local and online, i see the effect in firefox, safari, chrome, opera,IE.
try to delete all file in your webspace and recreate the gallery object, then export the site.
Autore
OK I'll try that, fingers crossed
Autore
Renamed all the files, reconstructed the Slideshow with new file names, delated site from server, uploaded site again, fully.
Still not working in FF or Safari.
Have put new iwzip file @ File @ www.colin-allison.com/testin/iwzip/equus_V9.iwzip see if you can find anything wrong.
Even though I took out all the "_" in the file names, X5 puts one in for the thumb images "xxx_thumb.png". I had file names with "_" in them and at the start in V8 and it worked fine.
I thought that you were supposed to be totally html5 now, so why is rgw Galleries/Slideshow still in Flash?
At this link:

There are no image.
at this link:
www.colin-allison.com/testin/gallery/MG9181.png
the image missing.
You don't export the image.
Control the setting of your provider and checks that your images are exported correctly.

This is getting really silly, yes in the browser at that url there is only the gallery.xml file.
BUT, I saw 20 .png images and the .xml file in my ftp program, checked the permissions and folder is 755 and files 644, so should be ok?
What the hell is going on??
Try to create another project for test and insert 2/3 image in slideshow and export on the internet. if don't work check the preference of your provider. Which provider do you use?
Autore
Hi Riccardo,
It's all sorted, thanks to you and X5 Frank (the man). Worked out that if the sites were hosted on another server the problem disappeared. So contacted my provider and they sent me the following, "There is the problem with the rules (Hotlink Protection rules) in the .htaccess. I have disabled them. Please check the access now in the Firefox. Please enable them again and check."
Haven't been able to do the check as I cant find the Hotlink Protection rules in the file, but it works. So if anyone has a similar issue contact you provider, and hope they have good support.
Anyone interested in a gfreat deal and supurb 24/7 support go to www.colin-allison.com and click the link at the bottom of the page.
Thanks again for your time trying to help. Just found another problem but that a different post.
How did you endup solving your issue .. since I have the same problem my sites works fine in IE and Chrome but not in Safari
