In settings add an option for "Picture / Photograph size.  en

Just a thought.

As Stefan answered on my question about this, today picture size is less important than yesterday. Being a photographer I like to display best quality whenever possible.

BUT, this test is really valid depending on the type of site you are creating and possibly where your target audience is. (Internet speed comes to mind).

Would it be possible to have a setting in Setup where the user can specify the "Max Size" of the picture file, any thing bigger triggers the warning "The Picture File Is To Big".

i.e.

Max size of picture file: #MB / # KB .... you get the idea.

Nigel.

Daniel,  I do that by default, typically with the compression set to minimum. Interestingly, I have seen after the conversion that the .webm is bigger than the .jpg, not figured that one out yet!

The only reason for my request is that I believe the designer should be able to set the limit, so that when you see the message you know it's something that should be looked at, with all my sites hitting an "A" for performance I now totally ignore undecided.- Nigel.

It's not just the size of each image that matters, but also the number of images on the page, which affects load time.

It would be interesting what the SEO professionals, moderators or Incomedia employees say about this - so let's wait and see.
