The Local File section  en

I'm struggling with the following: The first section of the File Selection window, which is available for all file types, allows you to search, select and import a file from those on your PC locally. And Update the contents of the selected folder; Bring up the Windows Explorer window at the location of the selected file; open the file's properties.
View previews of files in a grid or list, and set the size of the previews.
Sort the files by Name, Type, Size, or Date.
File name and size are now also offered through a tip displayed on hover.

Hello Paul,
I have replied in your other topic: https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/it/post/265165

Hello Paul,
if you keep CTRL pressed when clicking the File Explorer, you should be able to use the default Windows file explorer, viewing the actual folders.
I would suggest, however, trying a clean reinstall of the software first to see if the issue is fixed:

1) Uninstall the software in the standard way, from the Windows panel.
2) Go to the path C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Incomedia and delete the folder corresponding to your version of the software (it should be WebSite X5 - Pro).
3) Restart the PC.
4) With the antivirus and firewall temporarily disabled, run as admin the installer you can find here: https://www.websitex5.com/download/v2022.3/wsx5_pro.exe

Can this behavior be changed in order to use windows native file browser directly?

Thank you for your assistance. The issue seemed resolved yesterday, but it has reoccurred along with a new problem.

When I clicked on the text on line 4 (as shown in the preview on the right-hand side, where it says “Sunday 1st,” etc.), I changed the text to “Main Stage” and clicked OK. However, when I returned to the previous page, the change did not take effect. Even when I clicked on the preview above, no changes were reflected.

How can I fix this? I have attached four screenshots for reference. Thank you.

Hello Luis,
with version 2024.2 the file management has been changed and, among other things, the explorer is the default Windows one again.

Hello Paul,
if you open the Text object again, was the change saved, or did the content also revert back to before the modification?
If the content has been saved and this only affects the preview, please keep CTRL pressed while you click on the Preview icon, the preview will take a longer time to load but all of the website's files will be regenerated.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it reverts to before the modifications.

Hi Eric,

Yes, it reverts to before the modifications. From your first paragraph, does that mean I need to upgrade to a newer version? If so, how much would that cost?

Thanks,

Paul

Hello Paul,
my first paragraph was in reply to Luis, who had asked if it was possible to make the other file selection window the default one.
Regarding the issue with saving, I would like to check if this can be replicated.
Could you provide me with a copy of the project so that I can investigate more closely?
You can export it in Step 5 - Export, choosing the Export the project option to generate an IWZIP file.
You can then upload the file with WeTransfer.com or similar services, and provide a download link at sales @ incomedia.eu (without the spaces).
Thank you.

Hello Eric,
I am very thankful for your support in resolving this issue. Before my computer crashed, the software was fantastic for someone like me with no knowledge of building websites. I believe I paid for a lifetime licence, so I could keep practising until I become proficient.
As you can see from this link, https://glowmusicandartfest.co.uk/ the template has been used and is being hosted by Hostinger. However, after the crash, I haven't been able to update the information on the website. Firstly, I have no backup, which is my fault. Secondly, when trying to start over, the software refuses to save any new information. Our event is in August, and I have new line-ups that I cannot update on the website.
Your assistance would be highly appreciated.
Kind regards,

Paul

Hello Paul,
if you do not have an IWZIP file of the project (I recommend making a backup with these periodically, in the future), you could copy the whole project folder, which by default should be inside of the folder C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Pro, unless you have manually set another path.
I would suggest archiving this folder into a .zip/.rar file, uploading it to WeTransfer or similar platforms, and sending me the download link in reply to the e-mail.
What version of the software are you currently using?

Eric
