Shopping cart getting stuck at the next button after customer enters details

Everything seems to be working in preview, but when site is published if you try to place an order, you can enter your name address and so on, but clicking on the 'Next' button that should take you to the payment screen does nothing and also the 'Back' button is frozen. and help would be much appreciated

I tried to place a test order, and successfully reached the PayPal screen.
