Google Error Duplicate Home Pages

All of a sudden I'm getting duplicate page errors for my home page. The duplicates are www.domainname.com and www.domainname.com/index.html
Which is the correct URL within X5 Pro
Does anyone know how to correct this error?

Custom code:
Before the closing HEAD tag
...add this code...
<linkrel="canonical" href="https://www.domainname.com/index.html" />
... so Google knows which is the correct address.
Correction - with a space at "link rel".
