Integration of a “pseudo-cloud” in Website X5
Autore: Adrian W.Hi everyone,
I have a question for more experienced Website X5 users – has anyone tried to implement something like a “pseudo-cloud” within a project made in this program?
What I’d like to achieve is to have one of the pages (tabs) of the website work as a file-sharing area between logged-in users.
The idea is that, after logging in, the user would have access to, say, 4 folders, where they could:
• upload text files, Office documents, or PDFs,
• download files uploaded by other users,
• optionally preview a document online (e.g., via a small iframe viewer).
Ideally, all file handling would take place directly within the website’s interface, so that the user has no idea that, in the background, the system uses an external cloud service such as Dropbox or Google Drive — meaning that the file list and upload/download buttons would appear entirely inside the Website X5 page.
Has anyone tried such an integration using an API (like Dropbox or Google Drive)?
Or maybe there’s a simple workaround using built-in widgets or embeddable scripts in Website X5?
Would it be better to set up a basic file server on the hosting side instead?
I’d be really grateful for any tips or examples on how to make this work best.
