Cannot leave comments on guestbook

Hi - I've created a new website and it will not allow any comments to be left in the guestbook. The error message you get when trying to leave a comment is "No Comments. There was a problem during the comments insertion." I tried removing the captcha code to see if this would fix the problem but this did not work. As a result no one can leave comments.

Have you set the attribute to leave comments when setting up in the Advanced options Step 4?

I used the automatic "guestbook widget" to create the guestbook and I can't find any settings to check (although this is an option for the Blog page). Thanks for your comment!

Please make sure that you have added the pubblic folder comments in the correct file path and that you are allowed to write and read that folder. You should contact your providers and ask them if your pubblic folders have the permissions set to 777.

Hi Samantha - I'm using godaddy and they have confirmed that I have read/write permissions. The path I listed in the widget ishttp://www.songanddanceireland.com/guestbook.php Is that the correct path?

Hello Orla!
Please check that you have added the correct public folder path: go into the guestbook widget and make sure that the name of your file does not have a slash before it in the ''Public Folder PAth'' field.

Hi Samantha - that was the issue. I had copied and pasted the website page into the public path folder not knowing that it should only have been the www. address.
