Technical Enquiry – Automating Paid Memberships and Recurring Subscriptions in
Autore: John L.Hello,
I am currently redesigning a website called TENNISiPro (https://tennisipro.com), built using Website X5 Pro 2026.3.6.
The website provides tennis coaches around the world with access to a library of tactical drills, technical coaching information and other educational resources.
We are introducing a new subscription-based membership structure and want to automate the entire process as much as possible.
Our proposed membership options are:
Monthly membership: £19.99, automatically renewed each month.
Annual membership: £199, automatically renewed each year.
Both membership options would give customers access to the same protected coaching library.
What we want to achieve
Ideally, the system would operate as follows:
A visitor selects either the monthly or annual membership.
They complete their subscription payment through PayPal.
Once payment has been confirmed, a membership account is automatically created or activated.
The new member receives an email inviting them to create their password and access the protected coaching pages.
Subsequent subscription payments are collected automatically.
If a subscription is cancelled, expires or remains unpaid, access is automatically removed at the appropriate time.
The entire process operates without the website owner having to manually issue passwords, authorise accounts or monitor payments.
My questions are:
Does Website X5 Pro provide any built-in functionality capable of linking recurring PayPal subscription payments directly to its Access Management system?
Can Website X5 automatically activate or deactivate a registered user's access following confirmation from an external payment service?
Is there an official API, webhook integration or supported method for external software to manage Website X5 user registrations and access permissions?
We are considering using a third-party membership management application called aMember Pro. Is Website X5 compatible with this type of software?
If we used aMember to manage payments, registration and passwords, could it protect the existing Website X5-generated coaching pages without requiring us to rebuild those pages in another platform?
Is there a supported way to transfer existing Website X5 registered users to an external membership system?
If Website X5 cannot provide the necessary functionality directly, what solution would your technical team recommend?
Hosting environment
The website is hosted with hosting.com on my reseller hosting account.
The website is currently configured to use PHP 8.5, and MySQL/MariaDB databases are available.
I would very much prefer to continue using Website X5 for the design and maintenance of this website, rather than migrate everything to another platform.
I have used Website X5 for many years and would like to find a secure, reliable and maintainable solution that works alongside it.
Ultimately, we want a tennis coach anywhere in the world to be able to subscribe, pay, receive access and begin using the coaching resources without any manual intervention.
I would appreciate your technical team's advice on the best way to achieve this.
Kind regards,

It's probably not feasible with WebSite X5 and its features, but it could be done with an external provider.
I asked Google's AI about the integration of aMember Pro into WebSite X5 and received this response from the AI, see below.
----- Google AI's answer (no guarantee) -----
Yes, aMember Pro can be integrated with WebSite X5, however, the process differs fundamentally from typical WordPress integration.
WebSite X5 is a visual, offline-based website builder, while aMember Pro runs as a standalone PHP script on your web server. Since WebSite X5 cannot directly install dynamic third-party plugins within its software, the connection is established via server folders and HTML code.
Here's how the integration works in detail:
1. Use shared hosting:
Both your website created with WebSite X5 and the aMember script must be located on the same server (with PHP and MySQL support). WebSite X5 provides modern PHP support (compatible with current versions such as PHP 8.x).
2. Secure content via folder protection:
The most common method is aMember's folder protection. You export your protected premium pages from WebSite X5 to a specific subfolder on your server (e.g., /members/). In aMember Pro, you lock this folder so that only logged-in members have access.
3. Embed login and registration forms:
You can integrate login forms, subscription selections, or "Buy" buttons directly into WebSite X5. Simply use the HTML code object in WebSite X5. There you insert the HTML snippets or links generated by aMember (e.g., to the aMember dashboard or registration form).
4. Design Customization:
Since aMember Pro uses its own CSS layout for its login and profile pages, you need to manually adjust the template within aMember to match the colors and design of your WebSite X5 template to create a seamless transition for your users.
The advantage of this combination: You retain full control. You design your pages entirely visually in WebSite X5 and leave the complete payment processing, invoicing, and rights management to the powerful aMember Pro engine in the background.
