Shopping, Website X5 Evolution 9 version 9.1.2.1923. The ordering system with payments via paypal functions however my trials highlighted a few deficiencies and security niggles that need workarounds:-

(1) In Advanced Settings | Styles and Models, I have Page Title deselected (Visible not ticked). This looks better for most of the website and lets me simulate the Page Menu where I use a main menu level/label/button with no dropdown menu. It also allows me to customise my own page titles and provides a consistent layout.

When the Page Title is not visible, however, I lose the necessary shopping steps page titles:-

Step 2 - Shipment and payment choice, Step 3 - Customer data Step 4, - Order report Step 5, - Order completed.

I need to be able to reproduce these headings but without using a Page Title on the appropriate e-commerce pages. Does anyone know how can I do this?

(2) The Shopping Cart is persistent between Internet Explorer sessions. Isn't this insecure? Please note I'm currently testing using http not https

a. With an empty cart, go to an ordering page to select a product. b. Add an item to the shopping cart. c. Review the cart contents. There's the item selected. d. Close Internet Explorer. e. Open Internet Explorer, Browse and View Shopping Cart (I created a link to do this). f. Review the cart contents.

The item previously selected is still there. I would suggest this is insecure The system may be used at a public Internet cafe or by another user. I need to be able to make the shopping cart non-persistant between browser sessions. Does anyone know how can I do this? Clear down the shopping cart? With code?

(3) Payment and Shipment methods are similarly persistent between browser sessions. Again does anyone know how I can clear this? There also needs to be the possibility of setting optional default Payment and shipping methods.

(4) Personal Data - Invoice Address/Shipping Address is persistent between browser sessions. This represents a potentially serious data protection issue. On a public shared computer it would disclose the personal details of a previous user potentially to an unconnected person. I need to resolve this before going live with e-commerce. Can anyone help?

(5) E-commerce Step 2 On item of text currently reads,'Choose the shipment and payment mode you prefer, then click on the 'Next' button to go next' Please may I suggest the following might be preferable?

'Choose the shipment and payment methods you prefer, then click on the 'Next' button to continue'

(6) Order report Step 4 The text reads, "Please check if all the following details are correct, then click to confirm your order." Please may I suggest the following might be preferable?

'Please check if all the following details are correct, then click on the 'Next' button to confirm your order.'

Plus possibly replace the word 'Next' with 'Confirm' in both the text and on the button.

(7) The e-mailed Order and the Order Summary sent to the customer do not contain a clear breakdown of ex-VAT & VAT details or totals. A clear VAT breakdown would be beneficial.

Glancing thro your issues.....

Change text in Cart at General Settings/Content Language (Small icon on the right)

Secondly you don't need security on your site for just browsing/shopping it's the Payment Gateway (PayPal etc... ) That needs the security!

.....this obviously means you pay at the end of the cart process on a secure connection!!

Hi john,

the site save in the Browser cache the cookies for the cart, if you don't want the product that remains in the cart you need to refresh the cache and cookies of the browser.
