My version 9 Application will not load. error message says "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled Process ID=ox1154(4436), ThreadID=0x1394(5012)" although the numbers do change as i try again.

Once access is gained again will my website still be able to be edited after any "fix"

Hi Barry,

you use a old version of the program, please update your version, you can download the latest version of "my download" page of your profile.

Download it and reinstall it.

Hope this helps

Following my previous comment I have noticed that the file:- WebSiteX5.Localization.dll has been modified on 8th October. is this automatic because I have not been in the program for several months

i have tried the above but although it lets me run as administrater I don't get the option to choose operating. The error is still the same. Does this mean its a windows 7 issue. The second copy I have that was allowed on my laptop still functions normally but is rather a slow machine so prefer to use on my main computer. Bit of a loss to know my next move.

HI Barry,

check that the Framework 3.5 is correctly installed, if not:

As first uninstal WebSite X5 and then uninstall also the .NET Framework 3.5 then use this cleanup tool:http://cid-27e6a35d1a492af7.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Blog_Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zipand then install the .NET Framework 3.5 from this link again:http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25150

Once the installation is finished try to install WebSite X5 again.

I think there must be something else wrong with my computer as its still the same after removing Framework. I was actually v4, not 3.5.

I have now resorted to my laptop where there is websitev9 that works, BUT, i have tried bringing files over from one computer to another but cannot import the  project. I have also downloaded the website from Filezilla to the laptop but still cannot import any files for an existing project.I am not sure of what options I have left. I still have v8 that I use for a website that has not been modified with v9 yet but this has not stopped me using v9 as well in the past. v8 is not on my laptop. Incidently v8 even worked after Framework was removed.

I am getting quite desperate as something needs changeing quiet urgently but I don't know what options are left other than pulling the site down.

Hi Barry,

the framework 4 not included the 3.5 so you need install the 3.5 framework as ad administrator and then reinstall the program.

Try to reinstall the net framework 3.5 and let me know.

Something strange has happened. Windows did an automatic upgrade and it is now working. Just wondering whether the previous upgrade caused the problem in the first place.
