Failed Update To X5 Ver 9.02.1699
Autore: Norman B.On the news today of an new available update from my pal Frank, I tried to update my copy of to Evolution 9.0.0.1654 to 9.02.1699, unfortunately after repeated attempts I was unsuccessful, each attempt was followed by a 'not able to connect to server errors', when I run the separate update function from the program menu I keep getting repeated error 503 messages, seeing two distinct sets of errors I decided to look at the update log file, I was somewhat mildly surprised at the listing which logs the reason for not being able to update as 'forbidden' which I find quite extraordinary seeing that I downloaded Evolution 9.0.0.1654 free of charge because I purchased my copy of version 8 within the beta testing period.
After taking some advice I tried again sometime later by logging into my account, which I had done several times previously today, I noticed that my licences from version 8 are there, but not version 9, moving to the download section only offers downloads for version 8, which I hasten to add I no longer need, I noticed also that I get a “Sorry, your licence does not allow you to access to the X5 photos section”, which I have not the slightest interest in, however it does give access to the Turn now to WebSite X5 Evolution 9! Prompt, when I follow the prompt, I am not given the opportunity to enter my code therefore no update unless I agree to pay, which I certainly do not.
If you want a copy of my log file or any other details credentials relating to my copy of version 9 please let me know.
Maybe not relevant to you Norman...not sure...but I got the error 503 when I first attempted to update the "beta" and then, subsequently, the "1699".
I FOUND that it was a Windows 7 problem of security.
I right clicked on the installed Evolution9 folder and altered all the security allowances so that Admin, myself, etc. had total access.
By then right-clicking on the programme manager shortcut "update" in that Evolution 9 shortcut folder and runnning as Administrator, the update went through.
Try fiddling with the various combinations of that if your first attempt doesn't work.
As I say...might not be YOUR problem but this should help somebody.
ps the Incomedia server WAS out of action for a while...probably all the shouting from us Evolution 9 protesters scared it into warp down...lol!
Hello Norman (Hi Nigel), the problem seems to be that you have the old beta version and not the full version. Please let me know if you buy it using a different email address so I can set your license on your profile here.
All you need to do is:

Hello Steve (Hi Nigel), it is true that I used the beta version before I downloaded the retail version WebSite X5 Evolution 9 - as an upgrade from Evolution 8Evolution 9.0.0.1654 from cleverbridge(208mb), I followed the beta uninstall instructions before I, loaded in the retail version, it seems to work just fine for me, if you are still convinced that this is a beta version I downloaded from cleverbridge, then please send me a link I will download a new version I have a valid licence key from cleverbridge so there should be no problems, you will of course have to update my licence status in my account so that I do not have the same problem on the next upgrade.
Hi Norman, I just need to received your new License Key you have from Cleverbridge and add it here, so this account will have your license linked and you could see it on your My Licenses panel.
Probably you also use another email to register, so you can also send me that email and I can check the lincese from that profile.
Let me know.
