Did you set the code inside the expert tab in the general settings ?

The text for this field is 'verification metatag for google webmaster central' Then it should not be visible.

Hello W. Shine,

Did you add a code like this <META NAME="google-site-verification" CONTENT="+nxGUDJ4QpAZ5l9Bsjdi102tLVC21AIh5d1Nl23908vVuFHs34="/> ?

To be not visible it needs to have the whole meta name code.

Many thanks!

You can upload it as a file from google and upload it. this would be a one time only workaround.

that i did already, at first  i thought i had to paste it on to the expert google verification field and upload the other one in to my website. so you say if i only upload it to my website domain it still works?

if the google file is in your domain directory for that website then it works, you do not need to put in x5 as well.
