Hello, I find that now all the videos on my site will not play since I upgraded to 10. I see that you have said that, "Some videos with ads are not yet supported" I have the latest 'Adobe Flash Player' This is not good on a supposedly upgraded software! I'm wishing now that I had not purchased it. I'm fortunate that I have not yet uploaded my new stuff. As now I cannot up load to my site, what can I do? The preview speed is now fixed, but here is another problem. Worst than the last.

Hi Ernest,
All the videos that I could find played perfectly when I visited your site a few moments ago. There was only one which didn't start immediately, and seemed to take a while to buffer. However, this in itself wouldn't have anything to do with X5, I would have thought.
Hope this information helps in some way...

Yes that would be so, for as yet I have not uploaded with the new X5 10 software. It’s in the preview that there is no video that I'm told and I quote "The Adobe Flash Player or an HTML5 supported browser is required for video playback. Get the latest Flash Player. Learn more about upgrading to an HTML5 browser.” This message is in a window where the video usually is.
In the X5 9 preview these videos still play.!
Hello Ernest,
Please try to install Chrome Browser and then in Chrome install the updated Flash Player plugin from following site:
http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/?fpchrome
Install also the Media Player Plugin by following the instructions on this page:
http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95697
Once done start the project again and check if the Videos are visible.
Please keep me updated.

Hello Claudio,
No, this doesn’t work, when I try to install Adobe Flash player I get the message “Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in.”
As for Windows Media Player HTML5 Extension for Chrome when I try the link you gave me I get the warning that “Apps, extensions, and user scripts cannot be added from this website”.
Can I remind you that these videos play for me on my computer and in X5 9 preview the only software they don’t play in is X5 10.
This is giving me a lot of unnecessary bother, I don’t dare to up load anything new to my site as it could destroy all my videos on the site! If I can’t get a solution soon I’ll have to work with the old version which is as slow as a cart horse when previewing and claim a refund.
Regards Ernest
Hello again Ernest,
I initially had the same problem as you but got it working by following Claudio's instructions. You need to pay particular attention to the install advice on this page:
http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/wmp-extension-for-chrome
Note that I also got the warning “Apps, extensions, and user scripts cannot be added from this website” - however, this simply means that the plugin will not install directly... you have to use drag and drop instead as per the instructions. Once you've done that, everything works fine

Hi Paul,
I have followed the instructions and have come up with the same results "No video" I opened up chrome, then draged and droped the flash player and behold the old message appeared, “Apps, extensions, and user scripts cannot be added from this website” I uninstalled chrome and the flash player and the reinstalled them to see if it would make a difference, but no joy.
Maybe I' doing something wrong, could you break down your instructions a bit more? And I'll try it again. Many thanks.
Ernest
It sounds like you're almost there. I feel the “Apps, extensions, and user scripts cannot be added from this website” message is possibly confusing you. It's important to ignore this message and carry right on with the installation. The message is merely a warning that the extension in question doesn't come from the Chrome Web Store, hence the browser flags it as possibly unsafe. However, in this instance the extension is bona-fide and contains no malware, so the message should be ignored and you should look for the option on the page which allows you to 'Install' the plug-in.
I'm pretty sure that you've arrived at the point of install, and just need to authorise your browser to finish the procedure.
There are other warnings which appear during the install procedure... e.g. that the extension can access data on your computer and the websites you visit. Once again you must OK these or else the install will fail. Rest assured, the process is completely safe on account of the integrity of the developers.

ciao,

Hello again, thank you all for your help, but as yet I have not solved the problem. Google Chrome tells me that the flash player is working, but there is no change, in x5 Preview I still get the black window (in place of the video) telling me that I need :-
"The Adobe Flash Player or an HTML5 supported browser is required for video playback.
Get the latest Flash Player. Learn about upgrading to an HTML5 browser"
This I have and according to Chrome "enabled"
What now?
Sorry for being so tiresome.

Ciao, ... tu hai effettuato il collegamento al sito di Adobe dalla pagina di Anteprima ?
ciao
It's no trouble Ernest. I know how frustrating it can feel struggling with things like this.
I'll try and explain further...
It's important to understand that X5 uses its own independent slimmed down version of Chrome when working in preview mode. It's possible for you to have correctly installed Flash player in Google Chrome itself, yet fail to see video in the preview because the additional plug-in required for preview mode is still missing.
So to restate that, there are two Flash player plug-ins for Google Chrome, one integrated and one system.
To try and help you further, can you do the following?
Open a new Google Chrome window, and in the browser address bar type "about:plugins" (without the quotes) then hit Enter. On the screen which appears click 'Details' in the top-right hand corner. Then, if possible, post a screenshot of the Adobe Flash Player information. This will help us work out where the problem lies on your own particular PC.
Oh, one more thing, when you try and install the plug-in to the Chrome preview browser in X5, it's important to follow KolAsim's instructions to do so from the intergrated preview browser address bar. Pasting http://get.adobe.com/en/flashplayer/ into a standard Chrome browser window will simply check if the plug-in is installed in the main Chrome browser. Remember we are trying to install to the preview browser in X5 instead. So you must run the install from within X5, and then you must shut X5 and all browser windows down to complete the installation. Reboot your PC if you want to be completely sure. Then restart X5 and check video in Preview mode.

Hello once more
I opened a new Chrome window, typed “about plugins” new window (bing) opens. I see no “details” at the right hand corner (see screenshot)
Tried... start the x5 preview, and the browser's address bar that is activated to replace the address with this: http://get.adobe.com/en/flashplayer/
Done this and it tells me that “I don’t have permission to save it to this location”
Ernest
The semi-colon between 'about' and 'plugins' is extremely important...
Please type the following exactly as shown into the browser address bar in order to bring the plugin detail page up:
about:plugins
Then press Enter...
Apologies... I meant colon in the post above, as opposed to semi-colon!!
With regards to this error, please close X5 then restart it by right-clicking on the program shortcut and selecting 'Run as administrator' - then try installing the plugin again in the X5 preview browser

Hello again,
I have finally got it! I would like to thank you Paul, KolAsim and Claudio D for your help and patience.
