Hi Richard, did your problems start when you used a newer version of Website X5? I just went on your site and there are no images at all until I get to your gallery. That works fine, and although the images aren't exactly hi-res thay are fine for internet puropses (you need them to load quickly and they can't therefore be too hi-res)

So, to help you I need to know:

What version is your copy of X5

What version of Windows (and Internet Explorer) you have

If your version of X5 is older than v9, do you have a dedicated folder where you keep all your images and do you process them (crop, optimise size, etc) before using them in x5?

What file format do you save your images in?

Once I know this, I or someone on the forum should be able to get this sorted for you.

Wayne

i use fire fox

so the website has worked fine for a year or more..

i am making new website with v10 pro but that will take time.

and i cant upgrade v8 to v10 pro as i dont have v9 to do this..

I hadn't updated my site for months and I changed to version 9. My first upload, I accidently put the files into the wrong folder (into httpsdocs rather than just the httpdocs folder).

I am not sure what your hosting provider uses, but check to see if you accidently put them into the wrong folder. That might explain the problem. Deleting all the files on the server might have also caused the issue, as you may have taken out ctirical files that were related to the hosting and not to your old site. Obviously, some files remain, as most of the site is still viewable.

Also, even though you use Firefox, do you have Internet Explorer 11 installed? This can affect users of version 8 even if you are not using IE at all. Either roll back to IE10 (if that is possible) or use an external FTP program. Version 9 and above are not affected by this issue apparently.

Hi Rik,

I just looked at the site and as you say, everything works for you now - must be a relief. There are better options in v10 and it's also a lot more search engine friendly, which will help you in the long run.

I currently use a longboard but wouldn't mind givind SUP a go! One of New Zealand's first surfing professionals, Daniel Kereopa, is now getting into it and doing pretty well.

Cheers

Wayne
