Slider image problem

When creating a website with a full width slider and viewing in landscape mode on a tablet or Ipad it is not possible to 'swipe' up to see the page contents below by finger up or down gestures onn the slider image. It is of course possible to swipe right and left through the slideshow. This means a standard (ish) layout with header/menu/slider is no use for tablet users without frustrating them. You can scroll up by the far right sidebar, or on the header but people would be expecting to swipe up anywhere. Does anyone have a fix?
Thanks. Mike.

Hello Mike,
Can you please write me the link to the website with the slider to check what exactly happens?
Many thanks!

Hi, the site is in my test area until I can get it to work. the address is:
http://www.sunrise-arts.co.uk/jfki/index.html
Looks fine on my PC but just tested on an Ipad and tablet, swipe up guesture over the slider will not scroll the page up when in landscape mode (does if you put your finger on the text box to the right but I really want a full width slider so that would be no good. Also on an Ipad and Android tablet the slide shows a hand with pointing finger image in the bottom right corner. I tried also with putting visible buttons on and it is the same.
Thanks, Mike.

FYI The Slider in Version 8 works fine, swipe up works and no pointy finger in the bottom corner. See the site I created.

Hello Mike,
This depends on the HTML5 gallery function where on mobile devices it allows to use the swipe function to change the images.
As soon as a mobile device is detected the buttons also if set on visible will disapear to allow the mobile visitor to swipe the images with the finder like on the mobile apps and not to use the buttons.
Many thanks!

Yes but on an IPAD which is a very common device you cannot swipe down on the image to see the rest of the page below the slider. So it is useless when you have full width sliders.
It was fine with version 8 but now no use. Can this be corrected?
Hello Mike,
This depends directly on the swipe function where all directions are used for the html5 gallery. The swipe function generally when activated it allows the function only in this area and is not using the standard functions liek scrolling the page.
In version 8 there was no swipe function and it's why it works differently.
It is better to use a smaller gallery to leave the space to scroll the page.
Many thanks!

It is a full width slider at the top of the page that I want/need. This is very common on websites.
If this software cannot do that and let me swipe down to see the text underneath then it is no use and needs fixing.
Is X10 professional the same? That is - does not work adequately?
Hello Mike,
The swipe function is the same since this is the function present on the mobile devices by default and the program uses this function to allow users to scroll the galleries.
Many thanks!

I feel like you are not really understanding the problem. If this software is used to create a website with a full width slider, the user of an Ipad or tablet cannot see the content below because they cannot swipe down to see it! This is VERY common to have a slider at the top of the page.
This is a problem not an enquiry, it needs fixing, is there any other channel where I can submit a complaint?
The slider in version 8 lets you swipe up and down on it, I bought this software to do a new website and it is no use to do what I see as a standard layout.
Hello Mike,
I will inform the developers about it so they can check to see what can be done.
At the moment try to leave some space on the side of the gallery object so it will be possible to slide down.
Many thanks!

Hi, any development on fixing this major problem?
Thanks, Mike.
Hello Mike,
You can find the informations on what has been added in the updates on:
http://www.websitex5.com/changelog/v10
As soon as something new will be added or anythingf in the program has been changed with a new update it will be then added on it.
Unfortunately I cannot tell you if and when something will be made in the program.
Many thanks!
