Menu drop down doesn't work on mobile  en

Hi, I am using X5 evolution9 to build my first website.  I am not a programmer so the software has been excellent at getting me going.  I can't see the menus when I view the site from my mobile.  The site is live at www.go-ifa.co.uk.  Someone said that the menus are java and therefore will not work on ios, if that's the case then clearly I can't do much about it but if there is a solution, I'd be grateful.

Many thanks.

It works on my Tabled and phone (both Android), on the phone I need to keep the menu a very small time pressed to get the submenu's.

You can skip the dropdown menu but then you have to create multiple rows and set all pages in seperate links. (multiple row menu) But that's not the best / most beautiful) solution.

Glad to hear it works on Android, thank you.  I am using an iphone with ios7, is that a known problem or can I do something about it?

I don't really like the idea of messing up the menu with multiple rows as that will not look very nice for desktop visitors.

I have set up google analytics to try and get some info on visitors popular browsers but it's too new to have any data yet.

Did you try to press the menu button a little longer?

I can imagine that a double row is not the best solustion.

I don't own an Iphone and I don't have an idea about how many people use this.

sorry ...

Hello Susan, checked your site on an iphone 4s with safari 7.1 and the dropdowns didn't work for me either.  The nav. bar and text height seemed very shortl.  I've checked several sites made in X5 10 & Pro and almost all were ok touch functions including dropdowns.

I didn't see the standard page width of 960(highly recommended) called out in your source code.

"<meta name="generator" content="Incomedia WebSite X5 Professional 10.1.4.45 - www.websitex5.com" />
  <meta name="viewport" content="width=960" /"

Is your site generated only with X5? Or did you add in other 3rd party features/functions?

Evo 10 or Pro may help with this also.  Someone else will have to comment on that.

Kind Regards - Donald

Hello Susan,

The issue on the dropdown menu you experience on the iPhone depends on the links you added to the levels and these are executed and the dropdown menu is then stopped.

Try to remove the links on the levels in step 2 and then it will work correctly on the iPhone.

Many thanks!

Hi Donald, I created the site only using X5 v9.  I don't have the programming skills to make things non standard so the width is whatever came out of the X5 box.

I have now upgraded to version 10 so hopefully this helps as I didn't understand what is meant by levels in step 2.

Hello Susan,

What I meant is in step 2 you added the levels in the menu to create the dropdown menu and to these levels you added with the properties the link function and on some mobile browser the link can handle only one function: or to open the dropdown menu or to open the link.

If you remove the link function by opening the properties on the level in step 2 then it will work.

Many thanks!
