Stopping spam on my blog

I was just wondering about a blog that I used on my previous webpage and I was forced to get rid of it because all I ever got was spam. But since I removed it from my new website, I still keep getting spam even though I no longer am using my blog. What do I have to do to stop this from happening.

Remove the Blog map from your host if you did not do this already.
Change password to your hosting company.
Do a FULL upload of your current project. (maybe even remove the all files manually from your site at the webhost before upload.
Usally this helps.

go to the Comments tab and enable Captcha, that is the only way to block spam.
