trying to load two short mp4 video clips using incomedia website x5 evolution 11, insert video tool, but when uploaded to the website instead of playing it just shows 'buffering' and they fail to open. At the moment I have hidden the page, as it's not working correctly.

I contacted webhost One.com and they suggested the following, but I am unsure how to do this and whether it would actually help.

You can edit .htaccess file in the root and add this script. AddType video/mp4 .mp4. Save the changes and allow 15mins to update.

I am desperate to get these video clips loaded urgently. please can you help me!

unhide the page or tab so I would be able to see what is going on behind the page!

or you can put the link here for that page, even is its hidden still I would be able to see the page if you post the hidden page link.

I've now uploaded the videos to YouTube and posted them as links on the software, but this is less than ideal because after they play, YouTube leads the visitor to other videos - which is not what we want.

If you can help me work out how to just upload an MP4 video and have it play correctly, I would be very happy.

The video/audio page is now live on the website.

Hello Diane,

Please add the videos to another page on your website and then set this page as not visibile in step 2 and then write here the link to the hidden page so we can see why the videos are not loading on your website.

Many thanks!

I've created a hidden page as you suggested and exported the files, but how do I find the 'link' to the page, as it is hidden? One.com say it is not on the server. I am totally at a loss with this issue.

Hello Diane,

Your link to the page will be your domain name followed by whatever you have called the hidden page in WebSite X5...  like this:

http://www.highspiritsharmony.com/the_name_of_the_newly_created_hidden_page_in_website_x5

This is the name you gave to the new page in Step 2 Sitemap Creation.

Don't worry...  we'll get there with this issue...  we will help you as much as we possibly can.

Kind regards,

Paul

Thank you, Diane.

The problem has to do with the encoding of the video files.

In order to ensure compatibility and trouble-free streaming it is best to encode the videos to MP4/AAC  format  -  you can do this using a media converter software  -  if you search the internet you might even find some freeware ones.

I've converted these two files for you:

http://www.filedropper.com/liitaq89c0ko2aac

http://www.filedropper.com/at-lasteditaac

If you download them and insert them into your WebSite X5 project you should find that they stream correctly from your website.

Please let us know if you have any further queries.

Kind regards and Happy Christmas

Paul

Thank you SO much! The videos took a moment or two to 'buffer' but they did then play in the site, so hopefully everyone on my management team will be happier with that than with YouTube clips.

I really appreciate your advice and will look for some appropriate software to convert videos.

Once again, my thanks.

Diane
