RSS - Parse error and FeedReady wrong format

Using WebX5 Pro11. www.historyreenactment.org.uk (Site upgraded from earlier versions)
I have a added an RSS feed and switched the Feedready on to display it.
Neither IE or Chrome (with feed extension) pick up the feeds automatically.
I temporarily added RSS and Readyfeed buttons to test live. (buttons currently removed.) The RSS gives
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /tier-11/pwpstore1/18/historyrw/htdocs/res/x5engine.php on line 3035
The Readyfeed gives Feed format not supported.

Hello Peter,
The program needs PHP 5 to work correctly and it seems you are using an older Version on your hosting server.
Please contact your hosting provider to ask how to activate PHP 5 and then the website like also the feed will work correctly.
