Forward/backward navigation in gallery don't appear on touch devices

I've just noticed that in a gallery, the forward/backware navigation buttons disappear on a device with a touch display. But I would really like to have the option of making them appear or not, rather than making it automatic. There are a lot of people that want to move through a gallery using the mouse and clicking on the button, rather than reaching up to the screen to swipe.

Hi Robert.
As of now, if the screen is a touch screen one, the website is going to be displayed in the touch mode, unless you disable the touch input in the device itself.
I therefor changed your question into an idea so that we can keep track of your suggestion.
