Hey,

I have done what was asked and the licence was uploaded to this account. Now how do I go about fixing my problem.

"I've finished my website and everything looks great. When I go to my website on my computer the videos show up fine. When I go to my website on cellphones the videos don't show up."

Hello Jeremy,

I am getting a 403 Forbidden error message when I visit that URL  -  have you restricted access?

Kind regards,

Paul

The website is down at the moment due to my videos not being able to upload. They work on Desktop but won't upload to mobile devices. If you require it to be up to fix my issue I can do it tonight and try back tomorrow.

As an alternative you can post a link to a location where one of your sample videos can be downloaded for analysis.

I recommend the following service:

I'm just using a bunch of YouTube videos at the moment. I've converted the videos to MP4 and tried then tried MP4 with a H264 codec and then I tried AVI and MOV and MPEG4. I've tried all sorts of different sources but can figure it out.

Ok, I can go ahead and purchase that .99$ a month one tonight and I'll figure out how to upload them all on there. If I put all 12 videos in there will you be able to turn around and make them into a format that works?

Filedropper is a free service, it doesn't require payment.

The YouTube link you posted is fine, thanks.  I've downloaded the sample video and am working on it.

Please bear with me.

Thanks alot! You're a lifesaver. I won't be able to work on it tI'll tonight so take your time. I will try your video and then try and duplicate with the 12 other YouTube videos. If I run into any problems after then I will send all 13 to you and then won't bug you anymore :). Thanks agian.

I've uploaded your video to a temporary test server, and it is playing without problems on my Android device.

Can you please visit the following link and confirm whether or not the video plays on your own mobile devices:

Yes it works! How do I go about duplicating what you've done?

Paste the URL of each YouTube video into the link field of the following site:

http://en.savefrom.net/

The site will analyse and process your video, and present you with a list of file formats from which you can download one of your choice.  I selected 720p MP4.

Download the file to your computer, then insert it in a Video/Audio Object within WebSite X5, using the 'Local File on PC' option.  Then upload to your server in Step 5.  That's all there is to it.

Good luck with your project and your website.

I'm now going to delete your video from my server, and obfuscate the URL I posted, for your own privacy.

I got off the phone with GoDaddy and they said they were unable to help me because its content related but he did say that he thinks its because im trying to upload flash videos on an html5 web builder. I dont know if that will help you at all.

I've done some in-depth research on this and believe the issue to be that in version 9 the WebSite X5 media player was still based on Flash.  Newer editions of the program have support for HTML5.  From memory I had thought that the change to the new player came in version 9: however, it appears that it was actually version 10...  please see Claudio's comment in this thread:

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/70232

You could consider embedding the videos directly from YouTube using an HTML Code Object, as opposed to the Video/Audio Object.  If you want to try that then have a look at the following articles for further guidance:

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_youtube.asp

http://www.htmlgoodies.com/html5/other/theres-more-than-one-way-to-play-embedded-youtube-videos.html#fbid=rx9QryWc0mm

If you decide to embed your YouTube videos then you will need to use one of the methods described which specifically avoids the use of Flash.

The other option, of course, would be to use a newer version of WebSite X5 which has native support for media playback on mobile devices without resorting to Flash.  Projects created in any version from 9 upwards can be imported simply and quickly into newer versions using the instructions in this guide:

http://static.incomedia.eu/websitex5.com/v12/v11tov12_conversion_en.pdf

Incidentally, one small paragraph in that document reaffirms that the move to an HTML5-based player arrived in version 10...  (my apologies, it has been so long since I used version 9!)

As an existing user with a validated license you may be eligible to special offer pricing on an upgrade.  Check here for details:

https://answers.websitex5.com/profile/offers

If you were to upgrade to either the Evolution or Professional edition of version 12 then you would gain huge improvements in other ways when viewed on mobile devices.  This is because version 12 produces responsive designs which automatically adapt and display the content of your site in accordance with the size of the user viewport:

http://www.websitex5.com/en/evolution.html

http://www.websitex5.com/en/professional.html

Best wishes...

Thank you, I will go ahead and upgrade tonight to version 12. I will reach out to you if its sucessful, so just to be clear... I can import my v9 website right to v12 without having to redo the entire website and all I have to do from there is upload the videos like the ones that you have me convert and it will automatically fix my problem? Thanks agian from the help.

Yes, there is no logical reason why that wouldn't work.  Please read the project conversion document (that I linked to earlier) very carefully, as you may have minor modifications to make in some areas.  The article makes these clear:

http://static.incomedia.eu/websitex5.com/v12/v11tov12_conversion_en.pdf

If you run into any issues then you will also be eligible for support from the Incomedia team, as a v12 licensed user.
