Question about creating a separate mobile website

I know we can create a responsive website in X5. What I'd like to do is create a completely separate mobile website. Is there some way in X5 that it will recognize a mobile phone? Meaning, if a customer tries to access my site on a mobile phone, X5 will recognize it as a mobile phone and have my mobile website come up instead of my regular website. (Again, what I want to do is different than a responsive website - I want to have two completely different websites - one for PC, one for mobile phone.) Thanks, Mike

Mike,
I started making a tutorial befors x5 had responsive sites, but shortly after that Incomedia had created responsive so I stopt workin on it.
You can use offcource 2 projects with 2 different sites and link them.
Maybe the tutoriial will give you an idea, you can find it here: http://andreweb.nl/x5_test/mobile-friendly.html
Hello Mike, in the 9th chapter of the users guide (Best Practices) around page 277 is some info about setting up an entry page with site re-directs to a device pending resolution. You might check it out and see if that helps. Regards - Donald

You know Batman, if all else fails we could look at the users guide. Robin, you're a genius!
I thought I read a thread that said redirection to mobile site through entry page is a feature of pro 12, not evo 12.
That's a good call Esahc. Did some searches here and could not find anything. Could not find the Evo 12 manual either. Down loaded the trial version and the built in help does not show any info, I could fine, like in the pro guide. I cannot download the pdf guide with the pages called out either. And it's not really listed in the product comparison pdf. May be one step forward and two steps back for Donald. Thanks!
Donald, before the release WX5 12 there were a number of links on answers describing how to select the appropriate site based on browser width and they included code to be embedded on the home page. I am sure they are still their, but sadly Answers has such a lousy search interface, the easiest way is to search the whole web with google and include website X5 in the search string.

One day Incomedia will wake up and give us a truly useful search interface so I can stop asking questions that were answered years ago.
Hello Donald and Esahc,
Here is the link to the relevant section of the help file that you are referring to:
http://help.websitex5.com/en/v12/pro/index.html?website_mobile_ht.htm
Yes, that's correct.
The Evo 12 manual is available here:
http://help.websitex5.com/en/v12/evo/index.html
Alternatively, any licensed Evo 12 users may download the PDF version here:

Kind regards,
Paul

How many times have I opened the standard guide and missed the above block? Don't ask!
So Mike, what did you decide? Code, link on each site, or upgrade to pro?
Sorry Mike, thanks Eashc and Paul.

Hey Batman, what about Donald? Good question Robin, tell him he has to scoop the cat box everyday this next week for not being able to read.
