Help:

With X5 v13 a new problem arises.

I have a website with a regular main menu, under the header. (See the capture noted with BEFORE).

The menu MEET THE AUTHOR is a page. I inserted a level AFTER it, (not below it) and at the same level.

Immediatelly, X5 switched from MAIN MENU under the header to PAGE MENU (on the right side). (See the capture noted AFTER).

This is also happening when I move folders up or down using the buttons on the right side.

I could not do anything to revert to a main menu. Nothing to "tick".

Can you help? This is stopping me from work.

Thanks

Akram Najjar,

V13 automaticly switches to the small viewport menu if the menu does not fit in the site.

Make the buttons smaller or the menu bigger and it should be alright..

Let me know if this has solved your problem.

Thanks !

Best Regards

Thanks.

Please remind me, someone mentioned it earlier. What is the control character to add in the menu name to force a space? (With 12, X5 is compressing spaces).

I have used it and it works but I need more now that we have this new behavior.

Thanks.

More: any trick to force a line break in a menu name? That is really needed. (Much better than hard spaces).

Thanks

Hello Akram Najjar,

I know about certain codes to create spaces, but I am not a fan of using those, why, well there are so many different hardware to check out your website, Ipad's phone's, pc's, laptop's, with different brands, different operating software and they all have several browsers. With these combinations you can get different ways of handeling specially on empty space coding, some will read them but some  not! This will create that your website looks differently then intended in some cases.

To create space in your menu use the margin option in the template customazation, for the main menu for instance you can set the text to left, middle or right, and create a space before the left or right side with the margin option. This way you can create it the way you want and it will always show up correctly.

If still needed for another reason, I think you are looking for the non-breaking space:   But I am not sure, I remeber a post about it some time ago but I can;t find it at the moment....

But you can use in the menu spaces.

Thanks but we are trying to solve it wrong. I need a character that forces a line break. I am not being able to fool around with spaces easily (especially after your note about different O/S's) to force two words to come out on two lines. Saying I want "Our Friends" to come out on two lines when my menu width can take 15 spaces. It will force it into one line. Why not have a line feed to do that?

Thanks

Akram, surely if you succeed in generating a line return in a menu item it will trigger the responsive menu?

So how do I ensure that the two words go on two different lines? My initial question. I cannot leave it to change.

Thanks

I can't find any code for this, And coding is not accepted in the menu. For now i have no Idea, maybe create an IDEA post for Incomedia to create such a function?

Hope somewone else has an Idea, I will keep on looking for you Akram. If I find something I will let you know here.
