Difference between (horizontal) size of cells (columns)  en

I am using X5 V13. My website is in a test environment http://www.fawltyandjones.com/test/

I noticed that not all the images have the same size on a page with a lot of columns. Take a look at this page http://www.fawltyandjones.com/test/m-nest.html

Take a look at the puppies in the above row Monty and Amy. The size of the images are exactly the same, but after putting them into a cell, they are not the same anymore. There is a slight difference in height. Also in the second row Noud and Chess are not the same.

When I take a look at the wide of the columns I see there is a slight difference. One row is 117 px, a few others are 118 px, another is 119 px and one is 124 px. So that is why the images are shown not the same. When I trie to change the wide of the columns, there is no possibility to change it 1 or 2 px. It only gives the possibility to change it (in one column) to 104 or 140. In another column to 105 or 139.

The page exists of 10 columns. I did not change the wide of the columns before. I only added columns (and rows) to the page.

Even if I make a completely new page with 8 images in a row, there are some differences. In the attachment I used every time the same image. And still there are differences in the sizes of the image shown. Take a look at number 7 and 8, or number 11 and 12, or number 13 and 14 or 15 and 16. The most columns are (in this attachment) 147 or 148 px, and one is 150 px.

How can I manage to make all the columns exactly the same?

Ruud, I haven't tested this, but are the number of cells equally divisable into the page.

eg (148px+outermargins)x8

How close is that to your defined page width?

I know I get minor differences using different browsers because internally they use different arithmatic to calculate placement, so I can only hope that if you find a solution to your image display problems it survives in different browsers :-)

Hi Esahc. The differences are there (as I can check myself) in Edge, I.E., Chrome and Safari.

I know that it depends on the page width. But in this case (in my test website) I use 10 columns. The outer ones are not in use on this specific page. So the images are on 8 cells. The total width of the page is 1200 px. So in that case that could be 10 times 120. So I do not understand the difference between the columns.

When I take a look at this particular page the program tells me 1 time 117, 5 times 118, 2 times 119 and 1 time 124. The last one I do not know, the program does not mention that.

In the attachment of my first post I used only 8 columns, just to try. That could be 8 times 150 px. The program tells me 1 time 146, 2 times 147, 3 times 148 and 1 time 151.

In case of my website, when maybe not all px are used (???), I hoped there would be a possibility to equallise the 8 columns in the middle. So that the 2 outer ones get the px "left overs".

I am not a programmer. So I really do not understand the "logic" of this.

But can I do something to equalise the 8 columns in the middle?

So in this case it is (in my opinion) not the browser who makes the differences, but it already starts in the beginning; the program!

Hopefully Incomedia will address this issue.

Hello Ruud,

You need to take in consideration in the template there is a margin in the content section and also the objects can have inner and outer margins. In any case the developers have been informed about the issue.

I would suggest for the moment to try to work where possible with less columns to get the best results.

Many thanks!

Hi Claudio.

Thank you for your response.

But I know that. In fact, the inner and outer margins of all the cells are exactly the same.

I hope the developers can get a solution for this. In the meantime I will try to use less columns.

Thanks!

Ruud
